They still play defense and block shots at a high rate which was Torts main contribution to Rangers hockey. But on offense there is puck movement and real offensive strategy to create goals. Much more enjoyable to watch this team under AV. Nash and Richards are both lightyears better than last year that helps. So is Zuuuuuuuc and of course MSL helps too. Then of course there is the guy pictured below.
Zuccarello's been pretty big for NY. Good to see him produce. Dan Girardi had a big goal last night. I agree with your analysis - the Rangers definitely look like a different team under Vigneault than Tortorella. It was pretty big for them to take a 2-1 series lead. Going to be a grind the rest of the way but that puts pressure on Philadelphia to play harder.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! Jackets even the series at 2-2 with ANOTHER OT win vs Pitt. I don't what the hell Fleury was doing at the end of regulation that allowed CBus to score the equalizer.

I was sick to my stomach. Couldn't go to sleep for a while after. Sometimes I wonder, how the he** does Fleury have a Stanley Cup ring?

One of the other sort of side notes is Kreider is still out too. If he gets healthy while the Rangers are still alive in the playoffs, that is big. But yeah Zucc and Kreider and some of those guys, Torts wouldn't even play them and they are a big part of why the team is better this year. Nash is playing more like himself. And for the first time I can remember the Rangers get quality ice time from all 4 lines.

He is a strange cat. He is so hot and cold. He can be brilliant and look as good as any goalie and other times he gives up some bad goals and it seems to go in spurts. He gets red hot with their team winning is easy. But that one series, was it v Philly?, where all of the games were like 6-5 or 7-6 was a good example of his other side.

Yep, MAF's consistency has ALWAYS been his weak point. Look at the game-winning goal last night: he'll make that save 99/100 times. That is a save a pee wee level goalie should make. A few games ago he made some ridiculous no look stick save. It's crazy how his game fluctuates so much for a professional!

Yes the series 2 years ago against the Flyers were all high-scoring.

Game 1: Flyers 4, Penguins 3; Penguins blew a 3-0 lead and lost in OT.
    Game 2: Flyers 8, Penguins 5
    Game 3: Flyers 8, Penguins 4
    (Penguins won Games 4 & 5)
    Game 6: Flyers 5, Penguins 1

Now the series with Columbus is a best-of-three. I don't trust the Penguins at home in a Game 7, so they had better win Saturday and close it out Monday.

The Stars are up 3-1 after 1. Trying to send the series to Game 7 with the Ducks.

Too bad Dallas almost pulled it off, too. Would've been an exciting end to what I would call an "extremely competitive" series. Credit to Anaheim for finding a way to tie it and get a goal in OT.

    I didn't know you are a Stars fan, 1404.

Looks like Pittsburgh will end the Jackets fun tonight.

The Blue Jackets played a heck of a series. Surely gave the Penguins a fight. That team is going to be contending a few years from now. IMO Columbus is a player or two away from a championship team. Call me crazy but that's what I see.
