So is this the most snake-bitten team in the history of college basketball or what?

Wow, Steele has been somewhat injury prone even before this season...but its never good to lose guys, especially with what we've gone through.
Well, I think we held the title before...this season though we're just losing games because we suck. The finale between AU-MSU will be for next to the worst in the SEC. If we lose, we'll not only be worst in basketball, but worst in football this year as well, something I doubt has ever happened.

You couldn't have scripted more to go wrong this sesaon for a program that is trying to rebuild with a first year coach. Hopefully Jalen will make a full recovery and can make a return to the floor next year.

i am sorry for Steele. wish him a full and speedy recovery. injuries are so destructive to teams. wouldnt it be great if everyone played injury free. UK, MSU and UF have been hammered by them this year.

Come to my mind, so easy and quick
Spacemen from Mars stole all of my money
I could play the game
The love me anyway.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it
That's my life and all that I got
Call me a liar, call me a writer
Believe me or not
Because of you... I walk the line

There have been other teams hit pretty hard with injuries and suspensions before, but i honeslty dont think any team has ever been through what this one has in terms of healthy available bodies. There have been times this year where we literally had only 6 or 7 available guys, and two of those were walk ons.....one of which actually practiced some with the girls team last year. I personally dont ever remember anything like it.

Just got back from watching the most beat down and undermanned team I've ever seen tough out a win in the hump. 6 scholarship players available tonight, 3 freshmen, 2 transfers, and 1 sophomore with 2 walk-ons, little Baxter Price, our only senior, even played 3 minutes tonight.
I honestly can't imagine a situation where I'd be more proud of a 9 win team. Jalen Steele's latest injury is just another chapter in the story of this team, and it wont be the last. Give Rick Ray time and we'll be back.

Are MSU fans ready to see this season end or will you be sad to see it end, because this team has had more heart than the last 14 or 15 teams combined.
KT is so knowelegable about basketball, he can back his **** up. He can rip a program 6 ways to Sunday, yet turn around in the next breath and explain why that same program should/could/will be/is a great program.

I like and respect kentubby, he does know his stuff when it concerns college basketball.

This board would be boring if it wasn't for Kentubby's posts and the responses he gets.

Kentubby is one of my favorite posters on this board. Sure he has some personal views, but this board would be so if everyone agreed all the time that it wouldn't be worth going to. I'd challenge you to find another poster on this board that knows as much about EVERY SEC team as he does. He knows more about lowly South Carolina and our recruiting then alot of our own fans do. It would be a sad day for the basketball forum if he ever left.

If we can beat SC and get to 10 wins that would be an accomplishment. It wouldn't be a successful season by any means, but given what Ray had to work with it would be a small step in the right direction. The team could have really mailed it in several times during the season.

I think our kids have given just about all they have, part of me just wants this season to end so we can lick our wounds and get some dad gum reinforcements in. On the otherhand a little run in the sec tournament would be a great experience for our guys. I think we have a chance to get our 10th win vs South Carolina, and I said at the beginning of the season, before the injuries and suspensions, that i'd be happy with a 10-win season.
Our main focus should be to minimize attrition, we have 3 talented freshmen and we need them to be 4-year guys. Seems like every year with Stansbury someone was packing up and leaving the team. Hopefully the attitudes are different under Ray and I believe they will be.
