    Auburn Chizik record without Cam...

As much as I hate to see former Gators fail, it's obvious this guy needs to go. Saw this on ESPN and just can't believe the win loss record. When he was first hired I just didn't understand it. He was 5-19 in two years at Iowa State before he was brought in to Auburn. If I were the Tigers I'd thank him for the national/SEC title and send him packing before he can do any more damage to the program.

    Re: Chizik record without Cam...

The dude is a joke... he's suppose to be a defensive guy and even in Cam's year that defense was atrocious. And let's not forget that that Cam year still had FIVE GAMES within a FG and 7 games within a TD. That season could have easily been just bad as all his other years. There's a reason when Rhodes took over Iowa State he said no one knew how to tackle and that he had to take time away from practice to teach tackling 101. Now that same tackling can be seen on the Plains every week. The thing is, Auburn will probably give him another year because of the BCSCG and it will set Auburn back even further... this recruiting class is probably going to suck now... if things start off poorly next year every coach will be able to tell recruits that he's going to get fired... so that's another class down the drain and setting Auburn even further back. I'm honestly not trying to pile on, just being honest. When your rivals wants you to keep your coach, it's bad news.

He said it himself when Auburn was doing good... "It's a God thing"... not a coaching thing... not a players thing... a God thing. That either means he admits that year was a miracle, or God now hates Auburn. I'd like to ask him that.

I think folks are being too critical of Coach Chizik. It is never easy to change Offensive Systems, and Gus Malzahn had a very unique style. Just look what happened to Coach Tommy Tuberville's offense at Auburn when he brought in Tony Franklin's system. I think Coach Chizik deserves more time.

Asked to assess the pressure that comes if a head coach installs a new offense like Auburn and Tennessee did last year, Franklin acknowledges that the SEC doesn't allow as much time for things to get working.

"They feel pressure to win every game. Even if it means that you aren't as good down the road as you could be. Both of those coaches [Tuberville and Fulmer] are good at what they do and have had a lot of success, but they didn't have time to let a new offense work."

Auburn can have Cam back if they want.

BTW, Ex-Panther GM Marty Hurney is available now too! Woo hoo!

I don't know, it was strange. He turned down Vandy after the 2010 season. Then they tanked in 2011, blown out by UGA, LSU, and Bama. Then he jumped to Ark State. An Aubie can fill us in.

Take a 30% pay cut to coach Arkansas St?

With some upcoming vacancies in the SEC, he *would* have been in a prime position to fill those had he stayed at Auburn. There must have been something else that drove him off so fast

You act like the criticism is based purely on what is happening this year, as opposed to the big picture. He didn't earn a 22-35 head coaching record (without Cam) in one year with a new offense. He's still young in his head coaching career and obviously still has a lot to learn. I personally think he's getting paid too much and in the wrong conference to be learning as he goes though...and I also don't think Auburn's problems are just a chance in offensive philosophy.

Offensive changes or not, his defense has consistently sucked (the point I was making). Your job is to win games, not make excuses. Even with a change in offensive philosophy they shouldn't be THIS bad. They had the same offense in place before and after Cam left... they still struggled. It's not that I don't think he should be given another year, I think he deserves a chance to show he can go 8-5 again... the problem is that the writing seems to be on the wall with him and another year of it will be disastrous for recruiting. It just depends on what Auburn's expectations are... if you think he should get that kind of money to get 8 wins a year, keep him. But don't keep him thinking he's going to bring you back to the top of the SEC.

Florida changed offensive systems as well... They don't seem to be having any problems.

I think you missed RBBF's point. He is hoping Chizik stays. So am I.
