Is LSU @ 'Bama the de facto National Championship Game and...

5 games into the season it would appear to some that both LSU and 'Bama are in a league of their own, so far above the competition that the Nov 5th match up in Tuscaloosa could be considered the de facto National Championship Game, the winner basically earning the right to be served up a sacrificial lamb (either Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Boise State, or Stanford) in New Orleans on January 9th.

Do you agree or disagree, and...

If they are really both that good, would you like to see LSU and 'Bama meet twice

It's way too early to tell who is the best out of the undefeated teams. Wisconsin, Alabama, Oklahoma, and LSU have all looked to be the top teams so far, all winning in dominating fashion or over quality opponents. I'll go ahead and say that Clemson, Boise State, and Stanford will be shown as pretenders later in the year, but I really think we're going to wind up with an undefeated SEC team, an undefeated Wisconsin, and an undefeated Oklahoma, and no I don't think an LSU-Alabama rematch for the NC game is a good idea. You should have to at least win your conference in order to participate in the NC.

It looks that way now, but it's way too early to just annoint that game the de facto National Championship Game.

I'm against two teams playing for the title that already played once, but the boner I get at the thought of one LSU-Bama game is nothing compared to the thought of a rematch in the Superdome...

It's the sem-final. OK-Okie State is the other half of the equation. Wisconsin and Boise could go undefeated and get left out.
