I wanted to start his own thread for the comments he made after the game, he will probably be riding the bench for the rest of the year or transfer out:

Kodi Augustus played 15 minutes in No. 18 Mississippi State's 88-74 loss to Rider here Friday night, scoring nine points and collecting five rebounds. (And also four fouls.) He visited with reporters afterward to talk about it. And what we heard, well, wasn't what we expected. And it wasn't what State fans or coach Rick Stansbury will be too happy about.

"I don't know," Augustus said as he settled into his chair, before reporters spoke. "Before you guys even ask, I don't know."

First question dealt with defense, which Jarvis Varnado had just said was the culprit tonight. Augustus seemed to disagree. "I mean, (Mike) Ringgold, he's just an unorthodox player and made some reverses on us, but I mean let Jarvis keep [expletive] guarding him."

OK. So, not happy with subsitution patterns? "What? I'm in for five minutes, and then I'm out. I mean, I can't even get into a rhythm. I got one rebound and played for five minutes in the first half. I'm not that type of player to beg the coach to play me, talk back. I'm not doing it. I didn't do it my first two years, and I don't do it know. He's the coach, but I talked to my dad, he said we got outcoached. I don't know.'

So, 15 minutes? "Yeah, I'm pissed, but, I mean, like I said, I can't do nothing about it. I played all those minutes in the exhibition games and then you come and play me for 15 minutes. Wow." And another on that line: "I mean, I didn't even play, I couldn't get into a groove. I got subbed every time I looked over my shoulder. I'm coming out of the game, it's crazy."

You do know that Stansbury is going to see these quotes, right? "It's true. I don't got nothing to hide. I mean, you seen it. I'm mad, yeah, we lost."

Augustus, you'll recall, started the first nine games of last season before being used sparingly through the heart of the season. He played more toward the end and flourished and has since grabbed a return to the starting lineup. Augustus said he's been working hard and has made changes.

Augustus' suggestion? "I mean, play me and Phil at the same time. I mean, we're both good, we both contribute on the team and don't make one of us suffer for the other playing."

Has he discussed this with Stansbury? "I haven't talked to coach. I probably won't say anything. He's going to do what he's going to do. I can't change his mind. I just practice hard, and I asked coach Kirby why he doesn't put both of is in there at the same time. He said, 'We can't do that.' I just walked away.

"Put us in at the same time, come on, man. This is Rider. We're preseason ranked No. 18 in the country. We're not supposed to lose our first game, home opener. Wow. That's crazy."

It will be very interesting to see what are the ramifications for him saying these things if anything happens at all which I find hard to believe it won't.

I agree with Kodi....I'm starting to get sick of Rick myself....I say bench Barry and split all his mins between kodi and Phil.....I mean...why keep a guy like Barry in the game when he's not playing for ***** on either side of the ball....they were shooting uncontested 3's all night.

i ended up going.. wish id stayed at home..

did Kodi mention he had 4 fouls in those 15 minutes... thats why he kept being pulled.. he was playing defense with his hands instead of his feet. he wasnt the only one. we were out coached.. but Kodi cant say what he said. imo we should let him go today.. if he stays it will be a soap opera all season.

Rider was clearly in better shape... we were gassed even though we were moving less than them..

i do agree with Kodi somewhat about the sub pattens.. ive never been crazy about Stans lineups & the way he subs... for instance Osby didnt play but 11 minutes.. even though he was 2 of 3 & only 1 foul... Osby should be starting at the 3 or the 4.. plus Wendell hardly got in.. he couldve been help inside as we got outrebounded..

i dont know.. not what i hoped for .. but on a positive side the pressure of being ranked & going undefeated is over...

Wow. Kodi was one I was really hoping we'd get in recruiting.

I don't see how he can say those things when you get 4 fouls. I didn't see the game, so maybe he got a foul late. But, if you're in foul trouble, you're in danger of not playing.

MSU has a lot of potential. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

Kodi is nothing but a drama-queen. He's talented as hell, but he's dramatic. Perhaps he'll apologize prefusely and stay, State needs him.

Just got a tweet from Brad Locke...said he saw Kodi Augustus headed to the Hump with two adults, seemingly his parents. There's no practice today...might not be good for MSU.

I can understand Augustus' frustration. To verbalize that outside of the team is unacceptable, but for a junior to do that makes me wonder if Augustus even respects the authority of Stansbury.
