Altercation between Tennesee and Kentucky players in Lexington...UH OH!!!

(Six) UT players were at an apartment complex that was discussed above and were harrassing multiple people. A female called the UK players (not sure if this was the female who invited them or another one) and asked them to come over and help her get them to either leave their apartment or the complex. The UK players showed up and a donnybrook ensued. During this bru ha ha a shot was allegedly fired by UK player into a wall. There is a 4th (UK) player invovled who's name has not been mentioned yet.

No one has been charged with anything yet and the police are not releasing any names to anyone. There are apparently dozens of witnesses to this event and the police are taking their time determining who to charge with what.

This is total speculation but I would not be suprised to see 4 UK players charged with disorderly conduct (or something along those lines) and 1 of them given the additional charge of something like Second Degree wanton endangerment (a class A misdemeanor) if he did in fact discharge a firm arm into a wall. I would also not be suprised to see UT players charged with something.

Fact of the matter is that the Lexington Police chief will have to charge someone with something since this is very much becoming public. However, he was raked over the coals pretty hard by Rich Brooks (who's teams have a very good reputation) and the press for the Stevie Johnson incident. If he is going to charge a UK player with a crime, while he was defending a female from UT PLAYERS, he's going to have to charge the UT players with something. If not, that would be VERY unpopular in Lexington.

Like I said above...I'm guesssing at what will happen here. I think you're going to see misdemeanor charges brought against multiple UK players and possibly against UT players.

-From LeeW, a source I respect, on Catspause. [[Brumm note: Still going to grant that this may be a rumor. Nowhere near saying it's fact. I partially posted this to get reactions from other fans, and to see if UT fans had heard anything]]

Whoever shot that gun won't be getting a misdemeanor. That sounds more like aggravated assault.

I'm speaking with little knowledge of the laws, but if the UT players were consistently harrassing the females, wouldn't that be taken into account?

If you are getting harassed, you don't call football players, you call the police.

Yes, it should be taken into account as an idiotic reason to discharge a firearm.

I agree 100%- but you know how dumb (drunk) college girls can be/are...

It's just a bizarre situation all around. It's grown so many legs that I believe the basics- UK players and UT players in a fight...but I don't know how much further into it I believe. There definitely was an altercation involving UK players at these apartments, and all sources agree that UT players are involved- which is simply bizarre.

I'm not gonna disagree w/ that. Again, you know how (drunk) college kids can be/are, especially the big headed athletes (the name I'm hearing is an ALL SEC linebacker..)

Ya, exactly.

And I don't think harassment will have any effect on the gun fire charges. That's just being thuggish.

Ok I just heard some news and it is the exact thing that's been posted except that no shot was fired, but a gun was pulled. And I heard names but everyone will hear soon enough. Anyone know the legal action if a gun is pulled but not fired?
Another post just up on the subject.

Perhaps the most bizarre situation I can remember dealing w/ any of my favorite teams.

No. The cops will not care.

I don't know about Kentucky, but in Georgia if you even pull a knife on someone (NOT stab them it, just brandish it) then you can be charged with aggravated assault, which is a serious felony.

I still can't figure that out..... several attorneys posted and none mentioned aggravated assault.
