DJ must be hating this. 4 more wins and Fox will be here next year.

Re: Feel bad for Fox, but...

If my source is correct (which I can’t produce where exactly it is), Mark Fox is gone no matter what. If McGarity had his way, he would have fired him after last season, but he had no control over it then because since Georgia athletics were doing so badly with 16/17, he was blocked from doing anything at all. Since Georgia athletics is in better shape now, he has more control.
But if he’s not gone, there’s really no point in watching Georgia basketball teams anymore, even if Ashton Hagans decides to reclassify to 2018 and gets on campus. Because I can tell you what’s going to happen:
There will be hope and encouraging signs that Mark Fox has decided to play differently from what he always does on offense from the beginning of the season instead of midway through before the season through comments we see in the media, and perhaps even a scrimmage that showcases it.
The season will start, and in the season it will be the same ole stuff, different season of playing the same two choreographed sets through the triangle offense, forcing a guy to be the #1 instead of there being more balance (only in this case, there’s no guy that’s used to it, which will make this worse), and staying painfully slow on offense. Georgia will start sloppily, and have a couple of bad losses, but have a few good wins, so Georgia will be in the tournament mix early on. Then, it will seem like the team has it together for a few games.
Then, the annual Mark Fox at Georgia slump will occur and completely slam the door, padlock it, and throw away the key at any chances at the tournament for Georgia. It usually hasn’t been as bad as THIS season, but he has annually had a slump.
Then, Mark Fox will figure out that his offense stinks and is worthless today in basketball and will change things up, and it will work, but it will be too little, too late to save any tourney hopes. Georgia will win enough games to go to the NIT and embarrass themselves in the 2nd round of it vs a mid major, or even earlier.
It never fails. This is what we have most likely seen yet again for the THIRD straight year. The bleeding has in all likelihood stopped based on recent history, but Georgia still won’t do enough to completely reverse fortunes. With the SEC’s strength this year, 9-9 and a SECT win may be enough to go, but Georgia won’t even pull that off. Book it.
I’ll eat crow if I’m wrong, but I’m expecting Georgia’s final regular season record to be 17-13 (8-10) at this point.
Georgia sports are like Charlie Brown. They will always tease you, and then Lucy will take that football up away from Charlie and he'll flip upside down, saying "Oh brother".

I hope they win out. I just don’t understand where this passion was early in the year?

Good question. How did we lose to LSU, etc?

We beat LSU. The UMass, Arkansas and first Auburn game is what killed us. Had huge leads against Auburn and Arkansas
