Not as big as the last time there was a somewhat similar situation with that other coach but it will be noticeable.

The guys in the secondary graduating are not a loss though at all.

You can pretty much predict what Georgia's season will be next season. Georgia will go 11-3 in all and get blasted in the SECCG.
You can step down off your personal bandwagon now......your prediction history illustrates that fact with this after Richt's firing:

I'm convinced Georgia's program will be highly relevant and in the mix for many years to come....just as I have become resigned to the fact that you will be here to provide comical commentary.......

Which further illustrates why Saban is the best head coach in college football history.....he knew that the change was clearly his best and maybe only chance to get back into and have a chance to win the game at the end.

One thing for sure, that Togoladopial kid is a real QB. Hurts lost his spot.

Congrats to Alabama, again. College football is the Crimson Tide's world & we are all just living it.

I thought the key to the game in the second half was Georgia's inabliity to block Bama's interior defensive front....only on a few occasions with this showing up particularly more critically on third downs in the second half, and 4th quarter especially.

Our center and both guards had a difficult time all night for the most part. Chubb had nowhere to run all night. It's an area where we should be much improved going forward.

It's apparent why Georgia continues to recruit heavily in the secondary, where we had one of our toughest games of the season last night. We will be much more talented on the back end next year, but just with less experience, particularly early on.

Saban's 6 or ever how many it is in a row No. 1 recruiting classes showed up as the difference last night. Kirby has had 1-1/2 or 1-3/4 recruiting classes in comparison. The depth and quality of talent showed up in the fourth quarter last night IMO.

Georgia is not going anywhere.......they will just keep chopping wood as the foundation is now in place to finally win that championship in the very near future.........I'm very proud of this team and program.
Payne, Davis and Hand really were the heroes. Without their ability to create havoc in the middle, no way does Bama hold UGA to seven second half points and force all those mistakes. Chubb was really shut down, which makes me wonder. Why didn't Michel get more carries in the second half? Aside from Ridley, Michel was clearly the most consistent skill position player but he didn't get basically any touches in second half. That has to be on Cheney.
"Alabama's cornerbacks don't impress me one bit. They're overrated. Real men don't play zone defense and we'll show them a thing or two come January 1."

Miami WR Lamar Thomas, the weeks before the 1993 Sugar Bowl national title game.

It worked out well. Roquan was about to tackle Tua on either the 1st or 2nd scoring drive and Bama's lineman actually tackled him from behind. That was on a 3rd down and Bama would have had to kick a FG from about the 30. I went into this game saying that I would be happy if UGA played hard and kept the game close. When UGA got up 13-0 even with a couple missed personal fouls like when 94 for Bama jumped on top of a pile after chubb was stopped and the whistle blew, I was ok. When the blocked kick was called back, which would have had UGA inside Bama's 20, up 13-0 with a chance to go up 20-0 and the way UGA's offense was clicking I think they would have. So they punted again and UGA had decent field position. Chubb lost a couple of yards, then Swift has his head turned 270 degrees right in front of at least 3 refs, I knew the fix was in. UGA had to punt and UGA was deep in their own side of the field, so Bama got a short field to make it 13-7. I know UGA scored to make it 20-7, but 20-0 means total domination by UGA and Bama has to change who they are to come back. With UGA up 20-7 or 20-13, I can't remember, is when the Bama defender shoved Fromm's head down long after the whistle. The 15 yards penalty would have given UGA a first down across the 50. When Bama went in for the game tying drive, the PI call on Parrish when the ball was thrown out of bounds and the Bama WR simply tripped with mutual contact they had been allowing Bama defenders to grab and push Wims before the ball got there. That kept Bama's drive going.

I have watched games before where one bad call late made a difference and that drove me crazy, but to know how many calls were missed or went against UGA at crucial times was not by accident. Sanders had the interception controlled against his thigh in bounds and only changed hands afterwards, but that was a close call and I can live with the judgement call there. #48 threw a punch, which is supposed to be an automatic ejection. You could say it didn't matter, but he was the only player around Hardman when he clotheslined him deep in UGA territory. If 48 is not out there, who knows, maybe Hardman gets out to the 25 or farther, not inside the 15. There is just too much that went for Bama that UGA players had no control over to say that Bama won the game. They ended up with a higher score than UGA, but the only reason that happened is because of the refs. Had this game been called evenly the Score would have 20or 27-0 UGA midway through the 3rd quarter.

Somehow I forgot they missed an obvious false start on the game tying TD. It was 4th down and Bama had to score to keep the drive going. Bama receiver took 2 steps before the ball was snapped. Sporting news and SBNation both have videos of the bad calls.

The no calls in the game made a big difference. The flagrant personal foul on the punch to the helmet of Fromm after the play was over was a critical NO CALL. It would have flipped the field with the Georgia first down there. Georgia may have still lost, but letting that helmet punch happen in that game is deplorable officiating. Not excusable.
