On obvious passing downs, bring in DeAndre Walker to rush the QB and let Carter cover the TE. I think Walker will have 10 sacks at least next year and Carter is a guy who can run a low 4.5 40 time with a 40 inch vertical leap. Remember the hail mary against the Vols 2 years ago? Carter was a foot higher than anyone else but drifted too deep. He has been excellent when dropping into coverage this year.

I also agree that Mayfield isn't really a running threat and that you need to keep him in the pocket - because of his playground throwing ability when the original play breaks down.
Guys that have played against him said if he rolls to the right you are dead. That's when he's most dangerous.

We will run and throw a bunch of screens if they stack the box like Auburn did in the SECCG. We are going to run the ball 40 times. I don't think even if they put 8 in the box that will affect our play calling. Our goal is a bunch of long ass drives to keep them off the field.

I actually think we win this game around 34-17.

If we win anything else, it's just gravy to me. I wanted to win the SEC. That gives us 13, tied with UT. I'm happy, no matter what happens next.

    Re: UGA vs OU

I'm not sure I'd pull Carter that far from the LOS, his speed and athleticism are elite. With mostly zone coverage, I'd expect to see the safeties really keep an eye on the TE ad allow the LBs to focus on Mayfield. Like HD said, you can't let him roll out and throw. Maintain the pocket, discipline from the outside DEs and LBs is essential to keep Mayfield enclosed, and play softer zones and not allow big plays. Make OU take 8-10 plays to score, not four. UGA has shown they can move the chains and go 10-12 plays and score, OU has not.

The two offensive lines prob decide game. If UGA imposes their will and their DL/LBs shut down the run game and keep Mayfield in front of them, it's gonna be tough for OU to win.

I think he is a better true pass rusher than Bellamy or Carter, but they are 3 down guys who stop the run very well.

Tough game to pick. I think it comes down to a single big play in the final minutes.

I going UGA to win 31-30, but i wouldn't bet money on either team.

Think you are right. OL has to play like they did against Auburn. Ever since we put in Ben Cleveland after the first Auburn game debacle the line has been crushing people.

I would take a 31-30 win, hell obviously ANY win but if it comes down to a single play in the final minutes not sure my ticker could take it.

I guess I'm the same way a bit, but we are talking about a chance at a first National Championship in 37 years.
