Riley had a successful first year and OU has a wonderful offense, but he was outcoached.
    The offense scored 41.

    Re: UGA vs OU

This is a pretty good summary of the game (really all of the games):

    https://www.sbnation.com/college-foo...-roquan-roquan

Pretty much when Oklahoma tried to do what they had been doing all season long late with leads, it played into Georgia's hands on defense. The more confusing part was when there wasn't a grind out the clock situation, Riley still took the ball out of Mayfield's hands. I thought the game was for sure going to end when Georgia failed to get a TD in the 1st OT.

It's not a bad idea normally, but when your non-traditional offense is confusing Georgia outside of the 3rd quarter and there's a national championship berth on the line, you should be more aggressive.

Georgia's only two adjustments on defense was really to mix up when to bring the rush and that zone defense. It could have been adjusted to but wasn't. Lincoln Riley is legit as a play caller though and he will get better.
Georgia sports are like Charlie Brown. They will always tease you, and then Lucy will take that football up away from Charlie and he'll flip upside down, saying "Oh brother".

Congrats to UGA on the win!

I have a coworker who is an OU fan from Oklahoma. He was down in the dumps today.

Mayfield was off target a lot in the 2nd half. Wonder if that led to the run play calls in the OT. We put him under bigtime duress.

Just a horrendous job by Riley. Smart made ALL the right decisions, he went more zone on defense, he brought more pressure, he freed up Smith to make plays, he and Chaney didn't panic on offense and stuck with the run whereas OU abanonded what worked for them. OU never dialed up pressure on the true frosh Fromm, why? He's very young. He played EXTREMELY well, but OU never really attacked him consistently. They never brought the extra guy in the box, why? Fromm didn't go deep at all I believe, he killed OU with throws to the TE and to Wims near the sticks.

I thought Smart saw what OU did in the half, created a fantastic game plan for the second half and executed it flawlessly while Riley blinked.
I agree except they weren't up by 17 at the half

They were up by 17 with 6 seconds to go in the half and then we got the squib and hit a quick out pass and a 55 yard FG to cut it to 14 and completely gain momentum back!

He did get outcoached in that second half, but perhaps this will be an important learning experience for him. After all he is young.

You guys better get right back to work though because that Bama defense was looking salty last night.
Alabama looks like Alabama again. Gonna be a tough matchup.

Thought for sure game was over when we didn't get a TD in OT as well.
