    Chip Kelly to Florida?

Hearing it's all but a done deal. That would be an instant impact. Great hire if true

Florida could get scary good if that offense can use those athletes to score points. He could dominate FL recruiting if he can show he wants a high flying system, the 7-on-7 kids love that offense.
"Alabama's cornerbacks don't impress me one bit. They're overrated. Real men don't play zone defense and we'll show them a thing or two come January 1."

I've been waiting to say something. This is done. The SEC initially denied it but Stricklin got approval. That was the only hold up. Announcement is imminent.

Since we play Florida every year...I was hoping for Derek Dooley.

    Re: Chip Kelly to Florida?

Kelly would definitely be scary with the talent available at UF, but I’m hoping SEC caliber defenses can defend his schemes. At Oregon, good teams like Auburn and Stanford were able to stop him with talent and great coaching on defense. Kelly had a few studs at Oregon, but he’s going to have that type talent across the board at UF if this is where he lands. Not saying this wouldn’t be a good hire, but I would be more worried if UF got Kiffin or an offensive mind like that who is just a natural play caller. I think Kelly’s system at Oregon only worked by using a ridiculously fast hurry up offense, and then relying on his playmakers to just overwhelm the defenses with speed. Aggressive and fast defenses were able to break up his timing.

Seems like Malzahn has made it work at Auburn pretty good. Florida has a recruiting edge on them. SOJ is probably hitting the bottle hard right now.

    Re: Chip Kelly to Florida?

Pretty good in the SEC is not dominant like Oregon was with Kelly in the PAC12. Besides Oregon playing a Dooley coached SEC team, what did they do against other SEC schools / Power 5 leaders? I’m not saying Kelly wouldn’t do well, I’d take him at UT in a heartbeat over what we’ve had lately. But, I am optimistic his schemes would be countered in the SEC if he does in fact go to UF.
