There was a point before I could tell the team had checked out in which you could've taken 14 points away based on poor discipline and mistakes.

Defensive line play was uncharacteristic I think but I think yesterday was about the offensive line getting exposed. It still was a good coaching job there and I agree with what the coaching is trying to do there (which is a trade off for the future but it will hurt in the present).

Georgia will clean that up again, finish the season 11-1, take a 10-14 point loss in the seccg, no matter who it is, and unless the bowl opponent is a defensive minded team with a physical DL, finish out 12-2, which is higher than anyone expected.

Like 2012, you're never as good or bad as you think you are. It's going to take a lot in the future for any and all Georgia sports team to exorcise "If we lose, we lose in the most embarrassing way possible, even if it doesn't mean blowouts". It doesn't take away from any team.
This team has accomplished more than I think any of us would have thought, particularly if we finish out the regular season with wins over Kentucky and Tech.

Next year's team and the one after will have more talent and more experience, particularly in key areas of the team.

Our future is very bright, despite the gloom of yesterday.

I agree with EC that the staff will have the team ready to go next week. Auburn looked awesome and they deserve all the credit.

I imagine Kirby will use this as a teachable moment and it could end up as something that makes this team better. I hope anyway.

As a side note, I'm going to miss Javon Wims after this season. He and Terry Godwin were a very good and underrated 1a/1b all year long.
Georgia sports are like Charlie Brown. They will always tease you, and then Lucy will take that football up away from Charlie and he'll flip upside down, saying "Oh brother".

Auburn won the LOS all game long. That being said penalties killed UGA, both stupid penalties against UGA and numerous holding calls on the outside by Auburn's WR's that were not called. A dropped pass at a crucial time by Ridley, penalties that kept Auburn drives going, and the fumble by Hardman all sealed the deal. UGA played horribly, but still had a chance at the half.

Wims has been the most trusted target for Fromm, but remember Eason to Nauta was just as effective last year. Is it Chaney not calling plays for the TE or is Fromm not finding them in routes? I think Landers is poised to take over as the big WR next year, as he has played so well in practice that Smart had considered pulling his redshirt. not targeting the TE's is baffling to me. Throws are usually quick short routes, which is exactly what a young QB needs.

That's what I mean by while winning the LOS helps, it isn't the main factor in being a very good team...but I DO feel that it usually will hamper your ability at being even better than a very good team and having a chance at winning a championship and it is the main factor there. I'd hope this team fights and the OL puts up a heroic effort similar to the last dance in the SECCG but even that likely won't be enough unless Fromm has a Stephen Garcia moment.

With the LOS thing, while it hurts to see it, it's why I agree with seeing a lot of the newcomer OL be redshirted. I'm sure they're working on them, helping them gain good weight and learn technique, and with a guy like Isaiah Wilson, helping him acclimate to the heat of the South (not right now, but earlier this year and next year). A lot of the Alabama way is about the LOS and I can see it being built. It stinks, as college football is so much about win now, but it has paid off before, can again, and its simply a trade-off now.

The tight ends thing is just baffling. I thought Isaac Nauta was a future Evan Engram like TE but he hasn't been used much at all and it's both. Both I don't think plays have been called that include TE in progression and also on Fromm not making progressions. He has gotten better at it but for a while he was just relying on his pre-read.

Yes, I have to say Congrats to AU. Who besides AlienBeans is an Aubie that still is in SECF? History of rivalry would tell tale that Aubie was overdue the W.

First half, after keeping them out of end zone on 3 consecutive series, I was still believing we could pull it off. With that beginning of 2nd half, I became aware, Aubie was gonna pull the domination and stay persistent.

Sure CKS will use this game as a instruction for awhile to get their **** together. Cheney??....it just still getting us down when opposing D knows the constant frequency of our gameplan. Gotta be a better OC out there for us.
