Your Assessment of Your Team on Opening Weekend of College Baseball?

As for Arkansas, they could not have looked better than they did against a decent Miami of Ohio team that finished second last season in their conference.

Arkansas swept the series by scores of 6-0, 5-1, and 11-1 to finish out on Sunday. Arkansas ended the opening weekend with a team ERA of 0.66, which I believe was the SEC's best ERA for opening weekend. No doubt Van Horn has a deep and talented pitching staff this season, maybe his deepest staff ever. Last season was a rare rebuilding on the mound year for Arkansas, but if opening weekend is an indication, Arkansas pitching is back in 2017.

    How did your team perform?

Being out of town for the weekend and keeping up via the interwebs, A&M swept Bowling Green.

    Friday: BG 1 - A&M 15

    Saturday: Game #1, BG 2 - A&M 19

Game #2, BG 5 - A&M 16 (The threat of bad weather cancelled Sunday's match-up for the Saturday twin bill).

Florida takes on Miami so it'll be tough. We'll learn a lot, fast.

Arkansas had to come from behind and banged out a 10 run 6th inning to beat Bryant of Rhode Island Friday on a 49 degree afternoon Baum Stadium with 7,000 in attendance.

Bryant and Arkansas had only had two prior meetings, that in an NCAA regional and they split 1-1. Bryant has a projected first round pitcher and he kept Arkansas blanked until the 6th inning.

It actually was a big win against a team that will likely be in the NCAA tournament this season.

Florida sweeps Miami 1-0, 2-0 and 6-2. Took Miami 21+ innings to even score a run on Florida's pitching. Florida's offense should come around as the season goes, but the pitching looks stellar once again under Sully. So glad he got his huge contract and the facility upgrades that he wanted. He is going to be an all-time great and he is our guy.
