NBA Off season trades and free agent signing thread........

Bulls and Knicks kick the summer off with a trade that sends Derrick Rose, Justin Holiday, and a 2017 2nd round pick to the Knick for Robin Lopez, Jerian Grant, and Jose Caulderon.

Good trade for the Knicks, Bulls and Derrick Rose. The Bulls move on from Rose era while dumping his salary and Rose is entering the final year of his contract, so the Knicks can resign him (with bird rights) if he can resurrect his career in New York or let him go if he continues to deteriorate. A change of scenery will do him some good. Now the Knicks should target one of the available big men in free agency.

I'm wondering if the Bulls are going to trade Jimmy Butler, blow the team up and hit reset, which has been rumored for quite a while now. By the way, the Pacers made a great move in dealing for Jeff Teague.

I wasn't sure if the Teague move was official, that's why I didn't post it.

Lakers, Magic, and Pistons all in hot pursuit of Al Horford on the free agent market............ Is Al Horford really that sought after?

Apparently. He's a good player, but he's better off as a complimentary piece. I think he would fit best in Detroit with Andre Drummond. He would move to the 4, which is his natural position. He doesn't rebound well enough to play in the middle.

The Knicks land a very good player but I think Indiana made the best move, landing Teague. He's a very good PG and a scorer, exactly what IND needs.

Horford is a very, very good player. He'd start for almost every team. Smooth stroke, very intelligent, great defender and an excellent rebounder.

Detroit could continue building a great team w him, but I can't see Horford deciding that would be best place for him as a FA butnif its a trade, he is the kind of guy that will go anywhere and never complain.

And TF, I'd say Chicago moves Butler too, esp since they got Jerian Grant. Both sides seem ready for a trade and Chicago looks to be in full rebuilding if they move Butler, one of the best two way players in league with Leonard and George.
"Alabama's cornerbacks don't impress me one bit. They're overrated. Real men don't play zone defense and we'll show them a thing or two come January 1."

Miami WR Lamar Thomas, the weeks before the 1993 Sugar Bowl national title game.

KD said in an interview today he'd like to play there IF he opts out of his contract. GS would be foolish to not go after him. Although they'd probably have to clear a lot of depth to make room for that salary.
