    Shocker in Amsterdam!

In an international friendly that just finished, the US team came back from a 3-1 second half deficit to defeat the Netherlands 4-3. With five goals scored in the second half (1-1 draw at halftime), this was one of the most exciting matches I have seen in years.

Its a friendly, Not really upset about it altho the defensive issues are kind of worrisome, esp with a huge match vs Latvia looming very soon. Nice to see Hunteelaar score 2 goals. Seems USA is more excited about it than most....Too bad it won't happen in the World Cup...lol

It was the first time the US had ever beaten the Netherlands, so yeah its kind of a big deal.

    Re: Shocker in Amsterdam!

And then to turn around and beat the world's best team today in Germany! HUGE! Wood has had two amazing goals late in games. The US beat Germany 2-1 today after being down 1-0 early after Mario Gotze put the Germans on the board. Mix Diskerud tied it at 1 in the 40th minute, and Wood hit the game winner from outside the box in the 87th minute.

Now Mueller, Kroos, and Neuer (best GK in the world) did not play, but any time the US can beat Germany in soccer, its a great huge win.

The German team IS the world's best team, they are ranked #1 in the FIFA rankings and reigning World Cup champions.

I noted that three of their best players, including the best keeper in the world and two other elite, A-level players who did not play, but any time a US team can beat a German team that sent out Mario Gotze, Bastion Schweinsteiger, Sami Khederi, Ozil, and Andres Schurrle its a HUGE win.

Its also worth noting that for the United States, Tim Howard (our best keeper) and our best attacker, Jozy Altidore, did not play either.
