It's premature to say Mizzou is going downhill after one bad season where we played one of the toughest schedules in the nation while facing more injuries than any Mizzou team in recent memory. Had a just a couple of more plays gone our way we would have beat Vanderbilt and Syracuse and finished 7-5 and not 5-7 and we nearly upset Florida at Florida if only our offense wasn't so stupid. Now if we repeat this season next year then yeah, I agree we're going downhill and Pinkel needs to go.

Yeah I also think it's a little early to call Mizzou going "downhill". Factor in their transition from the Big 12 to the SEC, and I believe you must give them at least 1 more season. There is definitely a gap between the Big 12 and SEC in terms of football quality. IMO Missouri will be fine in the near future, meaning they will play up to the level of the SEC.

Tennessee might not be going downhill. I suspect the other two are.

I don't agree with his analysis of Mississippi State, but we shall see. No one else in the west will be able to compete with Bama and LSU on a yearly basis. He mentions Auburn and Arkansas getting new coaches to which I say big deal. Bielema is going to learn quickly that the SEC is not the BIG 10 and Arkansas is going to discover that Malzahn is just a really good high school coach. This leads me to Ole Miss where once the NCAA gets done with Freeze they won't be a factor. This leaves Texas A&M who with Johnny football will be very good, but what happens after that. Last, but certainly not least MSU has had really good back to back recruiting classes. Mullen has made some adjustments to the coaching staff and I think MSU will be just fine going down the road. Time will tell all, but as I said we shall see.

Thats got to be one of the dumbest articles I've ever read. A bunch of mainly irrelevant schools in mainly irrelevant conferences are "going downhill?" And Florida International??? hahahahahaha

I'm not too concerned at this point about Tennessee, Jones is doing everything right, he gets high marks from former players, the team is responding positively to his style, recruiting is back on solid footing, and the Knoxville media that has been very negative for the last 6 years is literally gushing over the guy. I never thought I'd see Tony Basilio say anything nice about UT's head coach but Jones has turned the guy into an almost embarrassing Homer. LOL

I know you meant Auburn, but you can't be serious, Malzahn won the Sun Belt in his first year with a depleted team, and a national championship at AU as the OC, and then pulled off a top 10 recruiting class after a 3-9 year with only a few months to hold the class together. Auburn will be better, much more so then MSU. The article got it right.

I think Mississippi State will improve, I think Texas A&M will not.
And at the rate we are going, A&M will be lucky if Johnny Football even takes the field next year.

you were 3-9 last year...you certainly went out on a limb with your prediction of Auburn being better...hell win 4 games and you have already achieved that goal. The fact you hired an offensive minded coach and fired one that turned Auburn into Iowa State two years removed from a NC last year well it is not hard to predict an improvement. The article is **** and you know it...again let me point to the first team on the list there, not even worried about what the idiot said about State...did you read the bit on Colorado? A 1 win team last year, no bowls since 2007, irrelevant in that same time frame yet they are going downhill....sorry they are already there which makes for a less than credible "article".
