I was just saying that Arkansas has deep enough pockets, that if they wanted, they could offer raises to anyone in college football, even in the top ten salary range.
And I wouldn't be surprised if we have. Well, except for Gene Chizik...
Would Stoops leave Oklahoma or Patterson leave TCU for Arkansas? I don't know. Probably not. But, stranger things have happened. I just wouldn't be surprised if they or coaches similar to them haven't been contacted.

Guarantee CGM is salivating at the fact he could possibly be the next Arkansas head coach and I really like the homegrown feel this has. Long would have to fork up probably around 2.5 million for his buyout plus a lucrative contract and all sorts of incentives including reaching the SECCG, bowl or title game appearances. I think Malzahn is most likely to get this job and I wouldn't be disappointed. He's gonna have to put a short leash on his wife though. That could be a problem. I figured he would probably make his way back around through the back door after Nutt resigned and before Petrino was hired. Better late than never I guess.
Strong is probably not going to leave UL. He has already made all sorts of comments about being loyal since they gave him his first opportunity. He's bought a 2 million dollar home and UL is willing to pay whatever it takes to keep him there. However, I don't necessarily believe Strong is totally sincere when he is touting his loyalty. Doubt he is the next Arkansas coach but wouldn't be disappointed in the hire.
Don't know what Tuberville's buyout is at TT and not sure what Davis' status is at the moment but don't have the warm and fuzzy about either of these two fellas...
The way I see it, we should be trying to hire our Bear Bryant. Realistically, that will probably not happen but it will definitely not happen if we hire somebody in the twilight of their career. We should be looking to somebody that will be successful here for years and years.
Malzahn could be that guy. He has been really successful at every place he has coached at thus far. He seems like a winner to me. I don't care that his wife is goofy. That is really not relevant to me.
In regards to Strong, I really don't put much stock into any public statements. A coach is not going to flirt with a job publicly in the middle of a season. We have a much better job than Louisville. I don't even think the Big East has a BCS bid anymore.
When is a Republican Keynesian? When the US is in a recession and they are president. Any other time it is "debt" and "socialism" to put people back to work.
The BCS is only in place for one more year so that won't matter much.I don't even think the Big East has a BCS bid anymore.
