There was apparently supposed to be some sort of announcement today, but then apparently a new candidate expressed interest, and he's such a big name that he couldn't be ignored. I would be ecstatic if this somehow comes to fruition, the rumor was it would be a "boom" of a hire, and it's not referring to Will Muschamp. Supposedly the rumor is either related to Bob Stoops or Jeff Fisher. It seems that Jeff Fisher is the more likely suspect, his son is playing at Auburn right now, and the GM of the Rams (Les Snead) has former AU ties, so it would likely be a package deal with him as AD and Fisher as the HC candidate. Right now I'd say that the top 2 I'm hearing as far as interest from Auburn are Jeff Fisher and Jimbo Fisher.
What is the word on Van Gorder? Would he be retained?
