-Alabama still holding down the top spot. Can they go from start of season to end of season as #1?

-Even after the Florida loss, LSU still holding strong at #4.

-South Carolina and Florida move up after wins over Georgia/LSU.

-Mississippi State still holding strong in there at #5. Big game this week against the Vols.

    Thoughts on this weeks poll??

I didn't get to vote this week, but the two prior weeks I had South Carolina #1, and I was the only voter in those two weeks to give SC a #1 vote. Now 4 more voters are on that SC #1 train. I could see it happening. And it isn't a tough assessment. Spurrier is going to stuff Latt up dat @ss for 30+ plays a game, and he will get his 110 yards and control the clock in the process.

Bama may get through their cupcake start to finish schedule unscathed, but when they meet a tried and tested SC team in Atlanta together with Lattimore's knees upside their helmets, Bama will lose. Fact is, if Latt is healthy, there is no team in college football that can neutralize him.

I disagree. The gap is wider than anyone realizes just yet, except for me and a handful of others, and the gap is widening not closing. But it isn't South Cackalacka on the bottom side of the gap, it is Bama.

I would say the reason it has been closing in the first place is because of SC's win against UGA. I think a lot of that is based on the scheduling to this point in the season. South Carolina knocked off a top-10 team last week while Alabama beat Ole Miss 2 weeks ago and is coming off a bye. This begs me to ask...

What happens if South Carolina beats LSU this weekend and Alabama beats Mizzou soundly? Does South Carolina jump Alabama in the power ranking for next week?
