I'm happy to see Connor Shaw finally getting some respect. I preached all summer until I was blue in the face that he's a good QB, but people seemingly ignored how he finished last season and only remembered his shaky performance when he first took the reigns from Garcia. It doesn't show this on the stat line but so many of his scrambles/designed runs end up being for first downs in key situations and unlike Garcia he just doesn't continually make critical mistakes late in games. His play action bombs force defenses to respect his arm while also trying to guess if he's gonna take off down field or hand off to Lattimore. UGA was off balance guessing all night and Shaw/Spurrier just toyed with them.
I was convinced by his performance this season. He's been solid and playing with some pain too, still doesn't keep him from taking off and running but he's got to learn to slide some too. good to know that that SC has a quality backup
Go Hogs Welcome Coach B.
114 Day until the start of Razorback Football.
That was awesome...except for the "gamecocks beating up on them Dawgs" part.
"As Clemson's founder, Tillman seemed to represent the very 'white savage' that he described in his speeches. Volatile, uncouth, missing an eye, and clad in unfashionable clothes, Tillman was easily seen as the embodiment of the Southern "poor white," a man with hatred for "the negro" flowing in his veins. Tillman represented an ignorant, intolerant white South that had seized the reins of power from a more cautious elite that, whatever its faults, had sought peace through compromise and accommodation." - Stephen Kantrowitz, Ben Tillman and the Reconstruction of White Supremacy
Congrats on the victory Carolina. Y'all owned the day and clearly have a great team. Sorry for the delayed, congratulation.. I did not see but about 10 minutes of the game and have been to disgusted with Georgia to come to the boards.
