So is beating Mizzou, Buffalo, FIU, Vandy and UT more impressive than beating Michigan, WKU (who is much better than people realize and would beat Buffalo, FIU, or FAU with ease), Arkansas and Ole Miss????
I haven't said UGA has proved anything. I was simply responding to his post.

personally i am not saying anything about Florida being elite. that will be told in time. but its really ridiculous to ridicule 2 big road wins in conference when Alabama's Michigan win looks marginal and their conference schedule to date is lacking. how did TAMU outplay Florida most of the game. is the second quarter most of the game? first quarter was pretty even and Florida physically dominated the second half. sorry but it there was a lot wrong with it. not because he said Florida isn't elite. i would not go near that. too much left to prove. but the reasoning was lacking.
You'll have to point out where I said what you are claiming I said. This thread was about the East... I'm claiming neither the SEC West OR SEC East has show ME who is and isn't elite in CFB. It's still early in the season. I'm seriously wondering about the reading comprehension on here. Where in my post did I say Alabama has shown they are awesome? Bet you $50 you can't point it out. I don't think I even mentioned Alabama ONCE in the post.

I guess you could say that the game was too close to say one was outperforming the other so I'll agree with that. I wasn't saying that was the reason Florida isn't elite though... just saying based on that game, if you want to call Florida elite, A&M looked just as good and I felt like they were at a disadvantage since it was their first game. Florida did look much more physical on defense in the second half. I'm also not saying Florida ISN'T elite, just that I don't think they've had a chance to prove they are YET.

I agree with HT in saying that it's too early to say who is elite. We are just now getting to the meat of the meal as we have only had appetizers to date.

We will learn much starting this weekend and it is more important for LSU than it is for UF...LSU has not looked good recently and in danger of falling off the clift...but their defense will need to play well...this is the part of the season that LSU misses the Honey Badger and his flare.

The winner of Carolina and UGA will be in the drivers seat in the east for now...it is like a 2 game lead for the winner. For instance, Carolina can win this game and lose to LSU but they will still be ahead of UGA becuz of the head to head tie breaker. I'm not saying that LSU is going to defeat Carolina becuz they are good enuff to win both games....but I am saying that the game in Columbia is very very BIG!

i dont disagree with the elite remark. i am not claiming Florida is. i just thought the arguments made were not necessarily accurate. i didnt disagree with the premise.

Even in a down year, Georgia wouldn't lose to NIU in our home stadium like Bama lost to them in 2003 in Bryant-Denny Stadium!!

If Florida wins tomorrow, there is a claim to be made they are a legit "elite" team.

If UF holds on, it def. swings the power to the East and shows they are back.
"Alabama's cornerbacks don't impress me one bit. They're overrated. Real men don't play zone defense and we'll show them a thing or two come January 1."

Miami WR Lamar Thomas, the weeks before the 1993 Sugar Bowl national title game.

George Teague proceeds to embarrass Thomas in one of the most memorable (non)plays in CFB history.

Yes sir, and pending the outcome of the UGA/S. Carolina game tonight, The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party game could have HUGE implications on the East race.
