Was this the last game SoCar and Miami played because of that fight that broke out? The dude from "The U" slung Todd Ellis (I think it was Ellis?) like a sack of taters after the whistle. I think SoCar took Miami off the schedule after that. Was this when SoCar was an independent?

I appreciate your assessment and generally agree that Holtz and Spurrier have built a solid foundation, but we're teetering on the brink here. If Spurrier can sustain the success we've had recently (see 10 win seasons) it will go along way. However, if we lay an egg, the other teams in the east will jump all over us and we'll be back to 7-5 seasons being a good year. That is why several of us believe that the hire after Spurrier will be the most important in school history.

Carolina is unlikely to go back IMO. Thing is this program has been built up over time by Holtz and Spurrier. Foundation was laid and the hard work put in. Even when Spurrier is golfing full time, I think Carolina will be good still as long as the hire is right.

I think this is pretty spot on. A bad coaching move post-Spurrier could hinder them a little, but a good one could lift them even higher. South Carolina is a pretty good HS football state, and they obviously have a lot of influence in the recruiting world right now. I think it's great. Just another consolidation of power in the SEC. This conference might not lose a national championship (or playoff) for a very long time.

Buddy of mine here is a grad and we're going to hang out at a friend's tailgate. It's only a little over an hour drive for me...Was not planning on coming until game day came. Beside it will be more fun and much less painful than watching a Hog game versus Auburn...

I think 312 thinks this is USC playing Wofford. This is not a big deal to him, let me know if I am wrong dude. But that is what I get out of his responses. I don't care what you think 312. You have the right to your opinion and I have the right to laugh at it. I think the way things are heading now, in this season, 2012, this is the biggest game in SC history because if you win, momentum shifts to SC and your team will ride that momentum to the SECCG and possibly the BCS NC. You are just a blind hater if you cannot see where this can take you. This game is big, this game is huge. This game can put your team on a track that will eliminate the people that laugh at your history. This can be your history. This can be the rooster crowing on top of the crystal football.

And your hate of Georgia puts this as you playing Furman. Oh Lord lay me down.
