The only reason Bama'a schedule appears weak is because they don't play Georgia, Florida, or SC from the East. They got lucky there. I know this has already been stated.

The idea that "we didn't know our schedule would turn out be this weak so therefore we should not be penalized for it," is a rather weak one and won't hold up. Again, this is all overly theoretical, what will probably happen is all of these teams will lose a game anyways and Alabama might drop one as well, and all of this discussion was for naught, but just for argument's sake, I would say all of the above teams (except for FSU most likely), would have had better resumes then Alabama at the end of the year if there were to be 3 teams left standing.
WTF are you talking about?... I'm not using "we didn't know our schedule would turn out weak" as an argument. I'm just making a comment. And yes, perhaps Notre Dame COULD have a better SOS at the end of the year... or they COULD have a losing season too.. And what exactly makes you think I didn't consider anyone's schedule? If you think Notre Dame has any chance of going undefeated you must think they have the ability to do it, otherwise why even bring it up in your scenario? They BARELY beat that "paper tiger" Michigan, that's all I'm saying.

As you said, most or none of this will probably happen, so it's pointless to discuss. If we go undefeated and get left out of the BCSCG because other teams end up with more impressive resumes... well, that's how it goes, I'd just rather wait and let these teams do the dirty work first before we start talking about it. Keep in mind though, even if our resume isn't great, if we blow teams out of the water it probably won't matter. If I say something about us not controlling how our SOS ended up despite starting with a decent one, it's aimed at FANS trying to hold it against us and/or bringing up our 2 cupcake games despite the fact that EVERY TEAM has them.

Hopefully we'll be facing one of them.

Re: Could the SEC be shut out of the National Championship?

WHat a cluster**** of an article. In the Pac-12, OU and OSU cannot both go undefeated. So theres one down. In the Big 12, only one team on the list can go undefeated. Texas, WVU, TCU, and KSU all play each other, so theres three down.

Here are the facts. If Bama goes undefeated, they WILL play for the BCSCG. Period. Bama already has a win over a ranked team (UM was ranked) and would have ranked wins over LSU, MSU, prob. TAMU, and possibly UT being ranked AND a win over a top ranked SEC East foe, whether its UGA, USC, or UF.
"Alabama's cornerbacks don't impress me one bit. They're overrated. Real men don't play zone defense and we'll show them a thing or two come January 1."

Miami WR Lamar Thomas, the weeks before the 1993 Sugar Bowl national title game.

George Teague proceeds to embarrass Thomas in one of the most memorable (non)plays in CFB history.
