They also fired the OL coach and assistant Head coach as part of the shakeup. 10-18 overall record and he gets a $750,000 buyout. I think with the way they started against Towson and then the way they were just dominated by Buffalo saturday was enough for them to make a change

What's with these firings in Sept? I couldn't care less about Kiffin getting axed, but I wouldn't want to see this become a trend.

Just the way things are nowadays. There is very little patience around programs with boosters, etc. I hope its not a recurring theme, but it is possible to continue

Kiffin I understand USC can and will do better but UCONN in my opinion cannot. Who are they gonna get? This ain't basketball and they aren't big time. I guess they could find a diamond in the rough but not sure how likely that is.

They could hire an interim coach out of retirement such as Phil Fulmer, Mike Price, Houston Nut, or Lane Kiffin.

they will prob go for an exciting assistant looking for a start. They were in the BCS in 2011 so it can be done at Uconn

Just shows you how good of a coach Edsall is. He will get Maryland to winning too

Tubs is in Cincinnati, Tressel is working with the Colts. They are going to hire an assistant or an FCS head coach. Kiffin will prob get a coordinator or position coach down the road

Those coaches are not much better than what they fired. If they were they wouldn't be available. That's my point, if you fire someone the point is to get better than what you had and for a basketball school like them that's gonna be tough.

Price is retired so he isnt coming out for anything. Houston Nutt would not be a bad option. Uconn fired their coach because the adminstration and players felt he was not interacting with "today's" player. They felt he was still in the 1990s Syracuse days and it just wasnt working.

I can see the change too. UConn has yet to win a game this year. They've lost to Towson (home), Maryland (home), Michigan (home), and Buffalo (road). UConn hasn't shown any signs of improvement or life. IMO they are one of the WORST teams in the FBS right now. At least in my book they are.

idk if they are one of the worse, but it depends how far your list is. Towson is a top 2 team in the FCS and they played with Michigan. Buffalo is the game that would be really concerning

Coach Price could probably still connect with today's coeds...

UConn is still a bad team. They also play in a weak conference. No excuse being blown out by UB, though. The funny thing is Buffalo just blew out Eastern Michigan this past weekend. Maybe playing UConn did something for them.

Im not doubting they are bad since they are winless, but hanging with Michigan shows they have the ability, but I can think of 10 teams that are worse than them, UB was def a bad loss

True about hanging with Michigan. The only counter I would make is, UM struggled to beat Akron (at home) the week before. So they might have been in a little funk. That could account for UConn hanging with them. Other than that, good point, Dawg.
