is TERRIBLY overrated this year. Cuse was #1, but they arent one of the five best teams I have seen this year.

And from there, the rest of the conference is mediocre at best. UConn, LVille, etc... are not great.

The SEC is clearly better, as is the B12 and B10 IMO.

Agreed. The Big East is not good this season. There's Syracuse and then everyone else. Georgetown and UConn are good teams, though. However, once you get past those three teams, there isn't much. Seton Hall, Notre Dame, Marquette, Rutgers, West Virginia, and Cincinnati are all pretty good, but not great teams. The bottom of the Big East is deplorable, as usual. Providence, St John's, South Florida, Villanova, and Pitt are all awful. DePaul is one step above awful. Louisville is a couple of steps above awful. How was this team ranked #4 at one point?

However, I'm not sold on the Big 12. They are fantastic at the top. However, after Kansas, Baylor, Missouri, and Kansas State, there isn't much. Texas, Oklahoma, and Iowa State are decent teams who are fringe NIT teams. It, too, is a laughing stock at the bottom, with Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, and Texas Tech all being awful.

The SEC, even with my bias, is the second best conference in the country. I don't care how good some analysts say the Big East is. Kentucky is #1. Florida, Vanderbilt, and Mississippi State are all high-level teams. Alabama is another lock for the NCAA that seems to be at the level of a UConn or Georgetown. But what makes the SEC better than the Big 12 or Big East is its depth. Even past these five teams, there are four teams who look very good. Arkansas would probably be on the right side of the bubble right now. Ole Miss and LSU would be on the other side, but I like both teams' chances. Tennessee doesn't have much of a shot at an at-large bid, but anyone who says they're not a good team must be out of their mind. Auburn and Georgia are tough at home. The only SEC team who doesn't seem to match up to quality competition is South Carolina (sorry USC fans).

The ACC and Pac 12 are laughing stocks.

Although I hate to say it, the B1G is easily the best conference this season.

Outside of the big 6, the MWC is very impressive.

If you have SEC at #2, who is #1? Big 10?

I think the SEC's depth makes them the best.

Just look, Arkansas, at best the 5th or 6th best SEC team, just beat a good Michigan team. UT, at best the 6th or 7th best SEC team just beat UConn. UK has GREAT OOC wins (LVille, UNC), UF beat FSU, Bama beat OSU and Purdue (but lost to GT), LSU beat Marquette, etc..

I had forgotten about GT to be honest, the help the BEs case but they arent elite. Id take MSU, UF, and UK over them for sure, and probably VU too.

Yeah, I'd say the Big 10 is the best. It's a step above the SEC and Big 12, and a couple of steps above the Big East and MWC.

No offense, but if you say the BE isn't that good why mention UofL as a quality win. That's like yelling overrated at a team you just beat.

Ultimately, I'm not sure who ever said the BE was vintage this year. I've always maintained the B10 is better this year. If you though the BE would get 11 teams in this year you were overrating them to begin with. Only two of 11 BE teams made the 416 last year when Sir Charles called them overrated. I think more could make it this year. I think after 'Cuse, 2-9 are all good teams that could upset anybody. Pitt and Nova being down hurts perception, too. That's like when UK is down it hurts perception, but teams like Providence, SHU, and Rutgers are as good as they've been in at least 5, maybe 10 yrs.

I dont think Providence is as good as teh Ryan Gomes years IMO.

and I mentioned LVille because they were ranked in the top 10 at one point.

2-9 are all good teams, but not potentially elite teams. I would favor UF/MSU/VU over any combo of LVille/GT/Marquette/UConn
and I think UK is def better than Syracuse.

We'll just see how it shakes out. The only conference at this point that I'll pick fun at is the Pac 12. Everybody else is beating up on each other in their league, like a typical year.

It's kind of like asking whether you prefer to be subject to hours of Rosanne Barr or Rosie O'Donnell pornos.

Until the SECOND does something in the NCAAT on a consistent basis the perception is we're lower than we should be.

The first time I read that I thought it said promos, which is bad enough. But pornos? Yuck.

For some pigs, you really can't put lipstick on them.
