If I were Nevada and I scored a TD, I'd go for 2. Boise is having trouble stopping their option and they have gotten at least 2 yards off it on every play. Just go for the win in regulation and don't risk OT.

I don't think so... everyone saw all those missed tackles on both sides. That final TD by BSU would only have been a first down in the SEC (seriously, both safeties were right there untouched and yet they failed to touch the receiver?). On top of that, the Nevada QB telegraphs his handoffs so blatantly that the SEC defenses would eat him alive.

Yeah right.

We have one of the best offenses in the SEC, but no defense. Boise and Nevada both could match us score for score and assuming we follow our usual trend of playing like an NFL defense for 5 minutes and a pop Warner defense for 3 quarters and 10 minutes then they both have better defenses.

Though outside of the Florida game we are just one or two stops at the end of each game from being in the title talk ourselves... so that doesn't exactly say much for the strength of the power conferences does it?

Exactly. Nevada is pretty much a Kentucky team playing in the WAC.

Please don't try and say a 6-5 team is almost in title talk.

What I'm saying is that we have only lost by more than a TD in two games this year: Florida and UGA- and by less than two to UGA. That includes a last second FG loss to title contender Auburn. One or two stops in all but the Florida game suddenly we are 10-1 with wins over 3 ranked teams- then that Florida game would have been the difference between a BCS game and a title game.

My point is that 6-5 UK is basically 7 points out from winning the SEC East and being a BCS team... and quite honestly we haven't been that good this year. That doesn't say much for the power conferences when I have no doubt we would lose to Boise.

Okay.... So that means Auburn is about 8-9 points out from being a 6-6 team. It is a stupid argument to say "Well, if we had just WON all of those close games." People have been saying that about Les Miles for over 5 years now. That had he just lost all the close games he won, he would be an awful coach. It does not work like that.

i dont know bout all that, good but not great i think.

nevada is has lost two games, one to fresno state- yeah, that fresno state that got beat by ole miss and lost to boise by 50

whats 90% of the pac-10? lose to two teams? id say three might get them, usc with barkley, arizona and oregon. or going on the road to a couple pac-10 places in the midst of the season would be tough, but in a bowl game or something id take nevada over all the pac-10 but the three mentioned already.

in big xii, i take okst, ou, t a&m, nebraska over nevada, right at your 60%.

acc, VT, FSU. both them shut down the run, and nevada doesnt really stop anybody when it counts. maybe miami and the nc state/maryland winner (prob nc state).
this one is where we disagree. the ACC is bad, but VT is a solid team with weapons, and FSU has tons of talent. boise and fresno were able to score big on nevada, i think FSU and VT could as well. state's offense is not as good but its better on defense and russel wilson is tough. the home team would win, nevada or ncsu. if state beats maryland, they very well could match up with nevada, id prob take them.

and west va and uconn would be tight with nevada, nevada's a good team, but its not a top 10 team IMO.
but its pretty sad that the best the big east will put in a bcs game is west va or uconn.
but nevada isnt a bcs-caliber team either. id take wvu over nevada, not uconn.

and in the sec, i take auburn, lsu, arkansas, south carolina, alabama, miss state over nevada, with UGA giving them a great game.

in the big ten, wisconsin, mich state, ohio state, iowa, over nevada. penn state's intriguing, they could beat nevada but nevada would be the favorite.

nevada is not a top 10 team, but a legit top 13-18 team IMO.

like i said tho, when you are talking about going to coral gables, happy valley, the coliseum or athens mixed in between two big time games, it makes it harder to say how good Nevada is.
they have good wins, no doubt, a top 20 team easily, but in a bowl game scenario, i think a few teams would worse records could potentially beat them. penn state, georgia, nc state, etc...

if they were playing a tough three game stretch in the SEC and had UK right in the middle, uk could beat boise. i dont think thats even up for debate.

I've got no problem with that evaluation. Boise State has impressed me with the improvement in their defense since 2005. They are one of the few mid-major programs that can boast some defensive players with SEC speed. That 5-11 cornerback for Nevada impressed me as well. However, I'm with Bama Man in believing that they would be a 3-4 loss team in the SEC.

Screw this game. The ******** Chump System lives on.
So now one of the best teams in the country will fall bellow crappy Big-10, ACC, and Big-12 teams; and the other one of the best teams in the country won't rise above crappy Big-10, ACC, and Big-12 teams.

please... Boise & Nevada looked liked two good high school teams when compared to the size & speed of the SEC.

I was jumping around like UGA just won the National Championship. So glad to see Boise get beat. That was great.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who got overexcited over seeing Boise State lose, lol.

How do you miss that chip shot...it was closer than an XP!

no it wasn't, both misses were longer than an extra point.

True, but regardless of my being wrong, that kicker should have put both them through the uprights. The first one was from the 9, that is what 5 yards farther than a XP? I get the pressure getting to you once, but no excuse for missing both of them.

Do y'all recall the two Nevada fumbles that bounced into the hands of another Nevada player? How about the blocked FG touchdown that was called back (rightly) due to being tapped forward?

It seems that fate was against Boise State last night.

they beat fresno all be it 35-34 but its a w
nevada is 11-1 and plays la tech next week which will have them at a 13 game regular season

you are right, i looked at their schedule wrong. But its worse for Nevada, they lost to Hawaii, a terrible team. They beat Fresno by a point but lost a bad Hawaii team.

This was a really fun game to watch. I had not seen BS play this year and was eager to see what kind of team they had. The halftime score was 24-7, and I could not help but think about the Bama-Auburn halftime score. I figured I'd watch the first part of the 3rd to see if Nevada wanted to play football.

I ended up watching the entire game, even though I knew I had to get up at 6:00 AM to drive 400 miles. And man was I tired during that drive. But what a fun game to watch!

Those teams have some really crappy place kicking game though. Both were terrible. Not just the kickers -- the entire team effort. Crappy execution from snap to kick on the part of the entire teams. But that's part of what made it fun to watch. It was like a couple of high school teams. Nobody can tackle, nobody can kick, but a few guys can run really fast.

I thought the Nevada QB was better than the BS QB. Stronger arm, more accurate -- or at least, more accurate more often.

Fate shot a kicker in Reno last night, just to watch him die.
