Start the rumor mill.

The Tar Heels relegated at least nine players to the scout team on Wednesday due to the academic portion of the probe, the sources said. The group included players who were questioned as part of the NCAA's inquiry related to agents and trips to Miami.

Sources said starting defensive tackle Marvin Austin, starting defensive end Robert Quinn and starting linebacker Bruce Carter were among the players who were relegated to the scout team.

RT @ErinESummers: hearing it's all but 4 players on the starting defense who are involved in the academic infractions #UNC

This could have huge implications on the LSU-UNC game.

What originally looked to be shaped as a great college gridiron war, is now looking to be an LSU cinch. :pirate:

Maybe Tennessee shouldn't have bought out the series. Buffalo may turn out to be a tougher game than UNC.

It's blowing up......

Read reports elsewhere that Miami Dolphins Vontae Davis helped fund Marvin Austin's Miami escapades.....

Also read the tutor in question was Butch Davis' nanny???????? Nanny for his kids, not for him, btw...

LMAO.....

Sad situation for UNC. If true, the academic fraud stuff could do real damage to their program. And if it is true that Butch Davis knew about it, he could end up blackballed from coaching. (Google Clem Haskins for the similar situation involving U of Minnesota basketball.)

But, ain't this just like LSU? Is it luck or voodoo magic? Where can we get some of that for Auburn? I don't think Clemson is going to move its starters to the scout squad.

LSU has far from won this game. We still don't know if LSU is going to suck balls on offense again.

Nice point.....

Really its a lose/lose situation for LSU now....if LSU beats UNC....it will be because UNC had suspended players....if LSU gets the loss.....there's going to be a meltdown in BR.

But didn't the ESPN 30 for 30 documentary "The U" make out like Davis was the one who tried to straighten Miami out? Luther Campbell gave Davis absolutely no "street cred".
