I heard this is a good team.

Much better than the typical Ivy league team. I believe they start 5 seniors and they gave Kansas a real scare at Lawrence in November, losing by only 5.

KT may know more, but I think they can do some real damage in the NCAAs.

I was being sardonic. Bama lost to Cornell at home and I was a believer then. They also played Syracuse. I guess they're battle-tested.

In Wittman, Cornell has a player that can play and shoot with anybody in the SEC. Jay Bilas has picked them to beat Kentucky in the Sweet 16 FWIW. Coach Donahue is in his last year at Cornell IMO... somebody will swoop him up.

Not sure about that. He strikes as a coach akin to that guy at George Mason. Needs to prove more beyond this season.

What else can you prove at an Ivy school, rb? He's gone to three straight NCAATs and realize this is a one bid league without a conference tourney, so he's had the best Ivy regular season three straight years. Perhaps he's caught lightening in a bottle with a great group of players (like Billy D did with the 04s), but he's proven enough IMO.

And, being an associate of Fran Dunphy won't hurt either.

He could also be like that dude that got fired from Minnesota but previously won at Gonzaga.

Of course, Dan Monson is who you're talking about. Every situation is different for sure. Neither of us knows how he'll turn out, but I do know he'll be on the block this year.

Cornell is so good that one of their reserves, Mark "The Floury" Coury, was a starter for Kentucky. So, one could make the argument that Cornell > Kentucky.

But, that would be a terrible argument.

It was a bit of a disappointment to see them matched up against Temple. Both teams could have made a run in this tournament.

But Cornell was one of the teams that I said could have been competing for the West this year. I said Cornell, Murray, and Siena could. Siena was the only one who didn't win their opening round game.

I became a believer in Cornell after the way the played at Kansas. I found it absolutely hilarious that all week ESPN had been saying this wasn't a true 5 vs. 12 matchup and that Temple should have been a 3 and they wouldn't lose and then they came out today and got beat pretty good lol.

Well, 3 seeds do lose to 14 seeds, too though gguy. It happened this year as a matter of fact with G'Town. But, what's even more impressive about Coach Donahue is that he beat Temple in the first round. Donahue became Fran Dunphy's only assistant to beat ever beat him in a game. Not an easy thing to do.

Don't tell me. I know that I picked Cornell to win. Tell ESPN they are the ones that said Temple won't lose.

ESPN guys are wrong often, but they are right more than they are wrong. But, it's not all ESPN guys, gguy, afterall, Jay Bilas think Cornell is gonna beat Kentucky.... which means he picked them to beat Temple in the first round.

That's true it wasn't all of them just the majority lol.

Yep and I must say I'm kind of surprised at that. I really thought Wisconsin and their defense would end the cinderella story for Cornell. As usual though it shows what I know lol.

Go Big Red..

I guess if State cannot play, might as well pull for the wife's alma mater. Yes, I married up. :)

My wife is from that area and had relatives that went to Cornell, but that's as close as I get. Unless you count my mother in laws dog that had to go the vet school there.

Uh, if they lose there could be a Mass suicide. Cornell has reported 6 suicides this year and 2 were recent.

What's going on up there?

Tough to pull against the Nard Dog's alma mater, but Go CATS!
