Did much better this bowl season.

4-3
2 BCS bowl wins
4 W's vs ranked teams
All three losses were very close

And Michigan got to watch it all from home. :raz:

Compared to last year, 4-3 is good. Especially considering the matchups.

When has the Big 10 had 2 make BCS bowls before? It's been a while. I'm not sure if it was New Year's '04-Texas vs Michigan in the Rose;I don't know if Ohio St made a BCS that season.

Since they started the BCS system in 98-99 season, there has only been three seasons that two Big 10 teams did NOT go to a BCS game.

last year osu and Penn State were both in games.

2000-01 only Purdue went to a BCS game
2001-02 only Illinois went to a BCS game
2004-05 only Michigan went to a BCS game

Big 10 is 10-11

i still don't understand that whole situation. but at this point, I don't want to play anybody with a winning record.

I like Michigan's record against the SEC myself.

They are 1-1 against UGA, both at Ann Arbor.

This bowl season was a big step in restoring the Big Ten's reputation.

Big Ten Leads All Conferences With Four Teams in Top 16 of Final AP Poll
Three Big Ten programs rank in poll's top 10, most of any conference in the nation

With bowl season now complete, the Big Ten led all conferences with four teams ranked among the top 16 and three teams among the top 10 in the final Associated Press (AP) poll. The Big Ten had twice as many top-16 programs as any other conference, as the ACC, Big 12, Big East, Mountain West and SEC each had two top-16 teams. The SEC was the only other conference with multiple teams in the final top 10.

The Big Ten placed at least one team among the final AP top 10 for the eighth consecutive year and produced three top-10 programs for the fourth time in the last eight seasons. The Big Ten also ended the year with three top-10 schools in 2006 (#2 Ohio State, #7 Wisconsin, #8 Michigan), 2003 (#4 Ohio State, #6 Michigan, #8 Iowa) and 2002 (#1 Ohio State, #8 Iowa, #9 Michigan).

Big Ten and Rose Bowl Champion Ohio State led the way at No. 5, its fourth top-five finish in the last five years (#5 in 2007, #2 in 2006, #4 in 2005). Orange Bowl Champion Iowa was rated No. 7, its first top-10 finish since ending the year at No. 8 in 2004 and best final ranking since finishing third in 1960. Capital One Bowl Champion Penn State appeared at No. 9, its second straight top-10 finish after ending last season at No. 8. Champs Sports Bowl Champion Wisconsin was rated No. 16, its fifth appearance in the final AP poll in the last six years and best final ranking since earning the No. 7 spot in the last 2006 Top 25.

Since when do people talk about the "top 16" in football. Top ten, or top twenty, sure... but top sixteen? That's cherrypicking...

PSU was the benefit of a good matchup for them when LSU lost it's running backs and then the field turned to crap, OSU was the best team of all and Iowa had to play the nerds who were couldn't throw the ball and shouldn't have late on the game after they had just marched down the field the series before. All in all they make use of their talent very well.

PSU took advantage of an offensively challenged LSU. that's the end of that argument. and didn't those nerds beat UGA? Iowa themselves were a QB injury away fro probably playing Bama in the NC game. That would have been an interesting matchup.

No the nerds didn't. Clemson lost to South Carolina and the nerds lost to UGA the last week of the season.

GT's front couldn't hold a candle to Bama's and that's where Iowa dominated GT. Bama would have destroyed Iowa. Actually UGA probably could have played Iowa close.

guess we'll never know, but it's fun to assume things ;). We all thought Oregon would crush osu, and that didn't happen.

Actually I picked OSU, one of the few games I got right. Their front matched up well to Oregon's and skill postitions were all very even.

you're a better man than me. I thought for sure that oregon was going to run all over them. they were in it pretty good in the first half, but that Blount fumble out the back of the endzone killed all their momentum.

No I'm not better than you, I went like 13-21 in our college bowl pick-em, lol. I did way better during the regular season. I picked TCU-BSU wrong, Iowa-GT wrong, PSU-LSU wrong, TTU-MSU wrong and a host of others, it was bad.

I didn't after I saw the Pac Ten lose most of their bowl games.
