I agree, Dmac should be one of if not the first pick in the draft and will never look back at the chance he had a the heisman.

McFadden likely will not go in the top 3 unless someone trades up and gives up a ton to get him. He deserves to be top 3, but probably wont be. The worst teams in the NFL right now all have huge needs at other places than RB. Oakland and the Jets are probably gonna be the main teams looking to get Mcfadden. the Rams have Jackson, Dolphins have (will have) Ronnie Brown back, Saints - Bush, Eagles- Westbrook, the Falcons wont take him unless they deal Dunn and/or Norwood, Bills just drafted Lynch, as did the Vikings APete, Cinci is 2-4 with everyone else but I dont expect them to finish less than .500 and that would take them out of the running. Texans - actually a good posibility as well.

I would look for the likes of Brohm to the Dolphins, Dorsey to the Rams and then maybe one of the Jets, Raiders, or Texans will move up to get Dmac

Rams need offensive line help, and in a huge way. But I would be happy with Dorsey too......he's go well next to Carricker.

I can't recall a year with a weaker field...

I like their top five and I think one of those guys wins it but as of now I have no idea who.

It's a shame you have to be in one of the primetime positions to get Heisman buzz. Dorsey should be the frontrunner this year.

Not sure the field is weak but guys like Jackson and Hart have had injury issues and guys like McFadden and Brohm are eliminated by their teams. Still when you look at guys like Tebow, Woodson and Dixon those are incredibly talented guys. The difference in perception is Dixon and Woodson don't play for the usual suspect programs for Heisman finalists. If Dixon was at SC and Woodson was at LSU nobody would consider the field weak.

Dorsey for the most part was a non-factor in the Florida game against a true freshman offensive guard, that's not a Heisman performance.

39 Tackles @ DT is beyond solid... Not Heisman Esq, but very good nonetheless.

Thats my point. The guy is a great DT, but he has no business being in the Heisman discussion.

This is true, but he will never get close...

Hate all you want, but Michael Crabtree = result of what happens when a real WR joins a real QB in that system. He averaged 3 Td's a game for his first 6 and hasnt scored in his last 2, it would have been hard to deny a man the heisman trophy, freshman or not, with 130 catches, 2000 yds, and 35 TD's at the reciever position.

Storm

I have not heard of him.....
130 catches, 2000 yds, and 35 TD's at the reciever position.
are those his projected stats?

Seminole6

That is what he was on pace for TD-wise for after the first 6 games... but he hasnt scored in the last 2.

He is still on pace for 130 catches and 2000 yards... but ONLY 25 or 26 TD's lol

Storm
10-24-2007, 06:06 PM
that's still phenomanal. where's all his hype? is it because he's a frosh?

Troy Davis played at Iowa St, and he should have won it the year he rushed for lik 2k or something ridiculous like that.

I agree. I like Dorsey and I think he's a great player but he has no business in this race in my opinion.

is this a misprint?

In 2006, Darren McFadden came in second to Troy Smith as a sophomore, and in 2007 he will be the only active college player with top-three Heisman placement as an underclassmen.

it says that on Wikipedia. But it makes it sound as if it's a forgone conclusion that he'll be in the top 3 this year. Am I reading that wrong, or is someone trying to predict the future?

It looks like they are trying to predict the future at least to me.

Means that he's the only guy in college football with a top 3 finish before...at least that's how i took it.

i see what you're saying. They are saying that this season, he is the only player in the NCAA that has a top 3 finish, which was last season. So I guess I was reading it wrong.
