Andrew Steele, 6-3, G, Birmingham, Ala.

Summer team: Alabama Challenge (Nike)

Schedule: Peach Jam, Super Showcase, and AAU 19-and-unders

Skinny: Steele's brother, Ron, is the starting point guard at Alabama, and from what I can tell Andrew is every bit as good, if not better, than his big bro. He can play either guard spot and does a great job jumping into the passing lanes on defense. All the coaches at the NBA Camp raved about his character, as well. He took the skills sessions seriously and answered every instruction with "yes, sir." Trust me, this kid is a gem.

Alabama seems to be a gold-mine for talented guards. Steele will be an entertaining kid to watch in 2008.

There's more than just Steele that's an SEC target on that link.

I assume he's committed to Bama? or has he not made up his mind yet where he is going to go?

I appologize, I only saw the two. I most definately was not meaning to leave anyone out.

Zeller is not 7'1. Where'd that come from? Heard more of a legit 6'10.

I've heard he's about 6'11 personally, but there's really not a long difference. Some guys that are 6'9 play bigger than a seven-footer due to winspan.

I've heard its Bama or Kansas. But I think Bama has the inside track.

Bama would indeed appear to have the inside track, but it's hard to turn down Kansas, especially when they will have 7 scholarships to offer (5 seniors plus the expected losses of Arthur and Rush). And, if Sherron Collins blows up, there could definitely be a bigger push to land Steele.
