What have you read that indicates South Africa wouldn't hold it?

....Its most assuredly in South Africa..this is old news. They've even had the logo done for awhile now. Go to fifa.com

It wouldnt be in Portugal because they just did Euro 2004 there, and WTF this thread is pointless.

I'm holding out for the next time Europe hosts the W.C., S.A. and Brazil might be too crazy/dangerous.

Hell, if they end up finishing the rotation system (which was a retarded system in the first place) anyway, N.A. will have it in 2018, right? That means U.S., Canada, or Mexico..I'd be in for that.

dunno about a supposed rotation. Mexico already hosted it twice, and America was a decent experience. LOL at Canada hosting it.

Europe will likely host it again, but I wish Australia would make a play for it.

They installed a "rotation system", but pulled back after S.A. ended up hosting. I'll bring up a link in a sec.

USA has the greatest selection of high quality stadiums, and is tops in security. It'd be a great selection for 2018.

Yeah, but will the rest of the world think so?

Yeah, but will the rest of the world think so?They'd have to think so. Like us or not they have to realize all that we do have at our access that nobody else does. If they hold it some where else it's because they don't respect the US in soccer.

Gotta agree with that. We did host the World Cup with the highest average attendance per game, after all. Hell, we had 95,000 for a fricking WOMEN'S soccer match.

Sure, but they'll play the terrorism card and the timeslot issues. Plus, it's a respect issue. Has Spain ever hosted it?

Yeah, 1982.
Terrorism would be a huge risk there too, with ETA still pushing for Basque indepedence in their wack way. Timeslot?! It's being hosted in Brasil (Or Colombia) in '14, I don't see how they could play that card- but it is FIFA, so they probably would.

It would be over 50 years since the country that invented soccer hosted it (England, 1966). I'm also intrigued with seeing a WC in Russia.

What Rolling said. It was just in the US recently. It was an awesome World Cup. But I'd like to see it in England, they have the facilities and top notch security.

I have a hard time believing Russia is that much more corrupt than Brasil.....esp. after Mexico and Italy have hosted it in the past.
