Gary Patterson thought he had the UT job after his interview.

Mike Hamilton hired Lane Kiffin. :banghead:

And Bobby Bowden thought he had the job at Alabama. Joab Thomas hired Bill Curry.

To Curry's credit he did recruit a national championship team.

He recruited two national championship teams. GA Tech and Alabama.

What NC winner did he recruit at Ga. Tech?

They shared 1990 with Colorado.

However, Colorado should have never been in consideration. They lost to Missouri but then were allowed a win on the infamous 5th down play.

Bobby Ross was in his 4th season at Tech in 1990 and recruited virtually every starter and contributor on that team.

In fact, by 1990, Curry had left Alabama and was already at Kentucky. His last year at Tech in 1986, they were 5-5-1.

I respect Curry's character, but he's certainly not in position to receive any credit for what Ross did at Tech in 1990....

OU ahead of Notre Dame is a damn joke.

He not only recruited some of the players, but he laid the foundation for that team. To not give Curry any credit is a slight.

OU ahead of Notre Dame is a damn joke.

It is odd considering normally we would be saying it is a joke that ND is ranked ahead of someone else. It will sort itself out as ND has a tough schedule remaining.

OU lost at home to an unranked in the coaches poll and 25th in the AP poll Iowa State by a TD. They did beat Ohio State (6th) at the horseshoe badly.

ND lost at home to the team currently ranked 3rd by 1 point. They humiliated USC - ranked 13th in last weeks poll. They also beat a ranked MSU team.

The ND schedule has been tougher, IMO, than OU's.

I am not sure Ohio State should be ranked ahead of either OU or ND.

ND being highly ranked helps UGA's cause. I would be a ND cheerleader if I was an UGA fan!

Most I've spoken too are....but Georgia taking care of their own business is more important than everything.

Notre Dame still has NC State (this week), at Miami and at Stanford.

No doubt, if both run the table, it's likely that both make the playoff.

If we were to lose a tough tight game to Bama in the SECCG, and ND then got in the playoff over us with an identical record......needless to say I would be upset.

Except there is now an emerging debate that if both UGA and ND end up 11-1, that ND's schedule is more difficult than UGA's and they could get in the playoff ahead of UGA. Of course that is getting way ahead since both teams have tough tests ahead.

UGA must go undefeated to make the playoffs.

If ND runs the table there is no way they don't get in. Even if they jump other teams that are undefeated. The media and NCAA will make sure they get in.

Bammer is also another golden child. They can lose any game but the SECCG and still get in.

If UGA drops a game they are out.

Sucks, but that is just how things are.

The SEC Champion is in IMO....and that would include a one loss Georgia team.

Not if it keeps Alabama or ND out. The golden children are in with anything less than 2 losses.

What the media and NCAA want is a Bama vs ND championship game.

GUARANTEED they won't play in the semis if they both make it to the playoffs.

NDs only loss is a one point loss to UGA.
OU barely beat a KSU team that Vandy beat, barely beat Texas, lost to ISU. ND just throttled USC.

ND deserves to be ahead of OU.
