Florida’s nine players alleged of having misused school funds could be arrested as early as the end of this week, according to Trey Wallace and Oliver Connolly of The Read Optional.
The Read Optional cited sources with information on the matter.
Florida’s top wide receiver and playmaker for the last two years, Antonio Callaway, is reportedly one of the players likely to be arrested on charges of felony grand theft.
“Antonio Callaway, Jordan Smith, and one other player are likely to be arrested on charges of felony grand theft, with the possibility of further misdemeanour charges being tagged on, according to a lawyer representing one of the players,” the report stated. “It’s anticipated that the other six players will also be arrested, but only three players have hired legal counsel thus far.”

In August, players were initially suspended indefinitely from team activities for purchasing items with school debit cards and selling them for cash. They then claimed the cards as stolen, which The Read Optional’s sources apparently confirmed.
“Sources also confirm that all the money for the debit card scheme has been paid back in full,” the report said. “It remains unclear how much was paid, or who paid it — whether the players each paid the individual amount they took, or whether the total was divided between all the players.”
Several Gators players are being investigated in a separate credit card fraud case being run in conjunction by the Gainesville Police Department and the University of Florida Police Department.

I remember after the Florida LSU game last year the coach Mac said LSU deserves this. Now that's real class. So, does Florida deserve this?

By pokey do you mean prison? I seriously doubt getting arrested for something like this is going to mean prison.

Pokey = jail. If they are arrested, they will go to jail until bond is posted.

Looks like Florida is definitely the solid front runner for the 2017 Fulmer Award.

Wouldn't count on more than one or two guys seeing jail. Restoration has been paid. There is no offended party pressing charges. The one guy whose almost certainly going has other issues. Wouldn't be shocked to see one guy gone whose not going to jail.

i think you can count on more than 2 seeing jail. using stolen cc numbers to buy stuff. sounds like it was repetitive & coordinated.

I would be surprised ( and disappointed ) to see any of them back on campus. This was, without question, an orchestrated scam.

Strange, strange mood. A lot of people I know ( including me ) have become a bit less enthusiastic. The hurricane has a lot to do with it because folks are still dealing with clean-up and repairs. Given all the problems with these 9 knuckleheads, and the way the team has been playing ( and winning ) the fan base is split; pro Mac and anti Mac. Personally, I'm on the fence regarding Mac. I think the team is adapting to life without Calloway, Scarlett, et al. However, I heard Mac tout the OL many times before the season and the fact that they've not played well at all raises the biggest questions in my mind about his ability. I think Vandy is going to answer a lot of questions. Will they finally win decisively and without a freak play, or will they continue to play poorly. After Saturday, I may have to get off the fence...

It seems that Gator fans shouldn't be too bummed then, as their team has been able to succeed without the punks.
