What a match up to start the season! Can't wait for tomorrow. As much as I would love to pull against the Tide, I've got to pull for the SEC in this one for the power ratings. Florida State is a 7 1/2 point underdog. If anyone wins this one going away, it will be the Tide.

Roll Tide!

Alabama has dominated opening big games. I like bama by a little. I work so I'll miss it. Sorry I have been MIA working 60+ hours with a kid on the way.

31-23 Bama!

I have disdain for Florida State. They are cocky, fans are arrogant, and I don't care for Jimbo as head coach, even though he has done really well. I respect him though. I don't really like Saban either, for what it's worth. Anyway, I think this will be a thrilling game. Maybe low scoring starting out as the teams feel each other out. I think a couple plays by either team sets the tone. This game could go either way, really. I'll give 'Bama the nod as they are probably angry from not winning the Title in their most recent outing.

Alabama 31
Florida State 29

The winner in this game will have earned it. Physical play for sure.

Jimbo's play calling is terrible. That is the difference so far.

How they didnt call pass interference on Bama is beyond me. That was flagrant and obvious. Piss poor. The officials look to be paid off. Officials are not supposed to be biased. That was bias. The back judge could have flagged that.

It's so much fun watching Alabama play against any other top team. The amount of talent on display on both sides is amazing.

It is too bad Ridley doesn't have a QB that can consistently throw him the ball.

I dont think that no call is going to matter. It is all over but the crying for florida state. Roll tide.

I think it is time to binge on Netflix.

A win is a win, but our offense needs a lot of work.

Just remember. FSUs defense isn't chopped liver.

FSUs defense looked very good along with Bama's. Stating the obvious here but, it looked like both Offenses were out of sync badly. How much of that was the Defenses I don't know as you would expect the defenses tobe ahead at this point in the season. FSU not having Cook in the backfield really put a lot of pressure on the passing game, and they obviously didn't handle it well. Hurts didn't look great, but he didn't make any real dumb mistakes either. It looked vanilla, but he did what he needed to do in a Saban offense which was to not lose the game. Special teams wins the day giving Bama a huge edge. I hope Jones puts a priority in this area as Neyland, Fulmer, and others have at UT along with Saban at Bama. It makes a huge difference in big games.

Congrats Bama.

Congrats on the win, 'Bama. I think they proved to be too much for the 'Noles.

Bama is grossly underutilizing the play action pass. I may have missed one but by my count Bama used the play but three times. The ball was faked to the RB many times but then run by the QB.

The results of the three play action play passes?
1st and 10 at ALA 47
(11:28 - 2nd) Calvin Ridley 53 Yd pass from Jalen Hurts (Andy Pappanastos Kick)

3rd and 3 at ALA 26
(8:50 - 3rd) Jalen Hurts pass complete to Damien Harris for 11 yds to the Alab 37 for a 1ST down

1st and 10 at ALA 37
(8:25 - 3rd) Hurts, Jalen pass incomplete to Ridley, Calvin, PENALTY FLORIDAST pass interference (Marshall, Trey) 15 yards to the FLORIDAST48, NO PLAY, 1ST DOWN ALABAMA.

The most glaring underutilization?
3rd and 4 at FSU 15
(6:31 - 4th) Jalen Hurts pass incomplete

On this play, Ruggs had the DB beat by a yard. Play action and he would have had him beat by 5 yards! Bama had run the ball the 4 previous plays. Had Bama shown run, FSU would have thought Bama was going to settle for the FG if they didn't run for the 1st down.
