UK at 5-7? Don't see it. They gave UT too much love.

That's the most love that I have seen for Mizzou this year. They have them in the thick of a battle Royale for the East.

They are showing the Dawgs at 6-2 in conference play and 8-4 overall. It appears that they expect us to lose to Tech and either Appy State or Notre Dame.

I sure hope that they figured that wrong...

Just some of that love for the Fighting Irish.

When is the media going to stop loving all over the legacy/old school power teams?

Georgia could certainly lose to Notre Dame but why it's being predicted by some is beyond me.

I was going to look at something that explained some things about Notre Dame this year the other day but I had to close the page immediately when I saw the title of the video was "Notre Dame a potential CFP contender".

That's crazy considering that they were a disaster last year. I expect them to be better this year but still.

In fact, it wouldn't shock me if one of Georgia's recent history (00s and on) lay an egg games was Notre Dame...but Georgia went on to have a good season anyway.

Georgia Tech on the other hand, that really should be a win going by other recent history. Ever since Paul Johnson has been at Georgia Tech, every single time Georgia changes defensive coordinators, Georgia really struggles with them but the next year is better. In the first game the initial defensive plan is fine, then Paul Johnson adjusts his offensive plan, the new defensive coordinator does not know how to adjust to it, defensive players get frustrated, and Georgia loses or comes very close to losing.

Someone in the East will go 10-2.

I also think Mizzou is under rated. They return 10 starters to a darn good offense.

Me three.

I also don't like the prediction for Kentucky. Too low. Tennessee is too high. Auburn, Alabama, and LSU in the West looks about right.

Well, at this point in time, we are all CFP contenders. And we can all opine any team will be. Ask Dr. SwineSmeller!

Agree. I think you can almost swap UK & UT.

Here is how that site predicts...

East

Mizzou: 11-1 (7-1... Losing to AR)
TN: 10-2 (6-2)
UK: 8-4 (5-3)
GA: 6-6 (4-4)
FL: 4-8 (2-6)
Van: 3-9 (1-7)
S. Carolina 1-11 (0-8)

** This would certainly reject recent history!!

West

AL: 12-0 (8-0)
AR: 11-1 (7-1)
O.Miss: 10-2 (6-2)
aTm: 8-4 (4-4)
LSU: 7-5 (4-4)
Aub: 5-7 (2-6)
MSt: 2-10 (0-8)

** This one doesn't look quite as crazy...

Didn't check it out but the site claims they have correctly predicted the winner of every P5 division for the past 6 years. If so, I would think that ends with the SEC East prediction this year.

No way in hell they predicted Mizzou winning SEC-E in 2013 & 14...

Is there even a way to check?

Ok -- found it.

Highest SEC W/E rankings by year vs actual:

2016: Predicted Bama vs FL (accurate)

2015: Predicted Bama vs TN (wrong on TN... and also had GA above FL)

2014: Predicted Bama vs GA (wrong on GA... but had Mizzou next)

2013: Predicted Bama vs Mizzou (wrong on Bama... but had Aub next)

2012: Predicted Bama vs GA (Accurate)

2011: Predicted LSU vs SCar (wrong on SCar, but GA was next)

2010: Predicted Bama vs SCar (wrong on Bama, but Auburn was next)

Summary: Its not perfect... but not bad! It was correct 2 years... and really close on the others.

I don't buy into these "predictors". Though I guess they are an opinion. What they can't envision is injuries and other uncontrollable variables - suspensions, etc. A team could lose its best player(s) in opening week, and then what? All those models go out the window and a whole new slew have to be created.

No, I haven't. But what this one seems to be lacking is logic. Feels like it came from Lafayette, Louisiana, you know, Lalaland.
