ESPN says UGA has a 26% chance of winning at Auburn.

Stidham should be a good or very good QB and they return a powerhouse runner.

I don't think they're as good as some are saying but I understand the rationale.

Malzahn won the national title the last time he had a good quarterback. UGA has one too though.

If Stidham is so great, why did he transfer?

Maybe he didn't want a diploma from Gang Rape University.

How much do these preseason picks really mean? What matters is who finishes where at the end of the season.

The nice little Baptist university he chose to attend turned out to be a bastion for rapists and the majority of his coaches were fired because of it. Are those sufficient enough reasons?

What he said. Stidham threw for 1,200 yards, 12 TD to only 2 INT in his limited time. He's a talented guy.

Auburn under Malzahn has always been the leader in pumping preseason sunshine.

Although anything is possible, the media loves the hype when it comes from the a program that promotes itself this way. I remember the numerous stories that emerged at this time two years ago that Jeremy Johnson was "a darkhorse Heisman candidate". We all remember how that played out. I see a similar type of hype pattern out there with Stidham, though the results may be different. Either way, it adds pressure for these players to perform to levels that often are unrealistic.

I'm not saying that he won't be successful, but we've already seen publications and media take Stidham's spring game performance and immediately proclaim him as one of the top QBs in the conference and in the nation.

I think it just puts an extra target on the guy's back as he tries to settle in and perform as needed, whether it lives up to the extra hype or not.

let's say he is great. Auburn has beaten UGA twice since 2005; once with Cam newton, and once on a 4th and 19 hail Mary.
I can see how Auburn may be favored, but to say UGA has little chance is ridiculous.

I agree with you and it is stupid.

Phil Steele's just released Experience Chart places the barn at #1 in the SEC, #2 of 64 P5, and #6 of 130 FBS. UGA is #2 in the SEC, #6 of 64 P5, and #12 of 130 FBS. The barn should be able to at least get a first down in the second half this season. Maybe.
