Oklahoma's Bob Stoops, the winningest coach in program history, will retire after 18 seasons effective immediately, The Oklahoman reported Wednesday.

Sources tell The Oklahoman that offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley will take over as head coach. Stoops, the longest-tenured coach in college football, says this announcement is not related to his health.

The 56-year-old Stoops compiled a record of 190-48 with the Sooners with 10 Big 12 championships and a national title. He is a two-time Walter Camp Coach of the Year and has earned the Big 12's top coach honor each of the past two seasons. Previously, he was one of five active college football coaches to win a national championship.
