He's only the second player in league history to receive both awards in the same season, after Anthony Davis did it first in 2012. He's also the shortest to receive POY.

Kudos to Tyler. This is not hyperbole. He's one of the best players in UK history, and that's saying something. Afterall, we've only had 13 PsOY before. I said he'd be POY and DPOY. It doesn't surprise me at all. Glad to see the league get it right this year after missing the boat last year.

The fact that the best defender is 5'9 says something. Plus, he's playing 36 mpg. The defensive intensity doesn't ever wane with him. De'Aaron Fox is replacing his position next year. I sure hope he's half as good as Ulis!

The shortest SEC POY ever. I never thought I could like anybody as much as Tayshaun Prince, Brandon Knight, WCS, KAT, and some of those guys, but Ulis is definitely on my Mt. Rushmore of UK players.

Sad that Cal didn't win SEC COY, given that he had to replace way more guys than the guy that did win, but can't complain too much. Kennedy is a great recipient for this year himself.

Gavin Ware not getting recognized is a joke. I know MSU didn't have the best season, but he should have been at least second team.

That's excellent, he deserved it without a doubt.

Very glad to see Obahasohan get first teams honors, he carried Alabama's offense on his back.

Gavin Ware not getting recognized is a joke. I know MSU didn't have the best season, but he should have been at least second team.

Wow, you're right. I just assume he was at least a second teamer. He was more impressive to me than at least one first teamer and several others. I'd have the first team of:
G-Tyler Ulis
G-Retin Obasohan
F-Gavin Ware
F-Jamal Murray
F-Ben Simmons
F-Jalen Jones
F-Michael Carrera

But I didn't watch as many teams as often as some, but its not like these journalists always watch every game obviously by leaving off Ware.

I think the group of SEC players would rival any league, especially if you take our 8 vs someone else's 8.

But, does anybody else realize that all 8 of the first team guys are leaving. Guys like Ulis, Simmons, and Murray are declaring. Jones would be the one questionable one, but he said before the season that this was his last year. So, there's a chance for the league to really look different next year. Guys, like Maten and Frazier could be the first teamers next year. Look for some freshmen to find their way too.

Another thing about Tyler. He did this with an injured elbow compliments of our South Florida game. What a gamer! He's a guy that all SEC fans can be proud of.
