Miss. State's freshman guard Quinndary Weathersoon had the game winner last night against Vanderbilt.

The surprise freshman in the SEC.

Yup....like I said in the other thread...all that talk about Newman...and Q ends up IMO being the better all around player on the roster.

Weatherspoon came through again this afternoon, led the way for Miss. State in a road over Alabama.

Looks like we are playing the role of NCAA tourney spoilers this year...

Dickie V named him his diaper dandy of the week. I really like Weatherspoon, he has a confidence and poise about him that I like. He is averaging about 15 ppg and 6 rebounds in SEC play and about 12 points and 5 boards overall.

I like Newman also but so far this season Q has been the surprise.

Q IS the better all around player...

From what I can tell, Newman's draft stock is really starting to slip. I'm not really finding any mock drafts that still have him slated as a first rounder this year. If that's the case, he might have no choice but to come back to try to revive his draft stock. That would be incredible for MSU. As much as it's sucked to see him underperform this year, it could really work out in our favor.

With what we having coming in, and what we have coming back...especially with the development of Q....we would def be a competitive team.

Howland said yesterday that he still planned on signing two more guys for the 2016 class. I didn't know we had that many spots left.

Regardless of the fact, we will be very deep next year. My only real concern is losing Ware, Howland also mentioned he wishes he had one more year with Ware. We have some highly rated bigs coming in but they will all be young.

Don't we also have a big that did not play this year..maybe even two...due to like injuries?

Yep, Joe Struggs will be available next year as well.

Depth surely won't be an issue next season, that's for sure.

And we blow another game late in stupid fashion. We have to be one of the dumbest teams in America. How do you hack someone with 2 seconds left in a tie game?
