Tomorrow night is the opening of The Pavilion at Ole Miss vs Bama. If anyone gets to attend this event, please post your thoughts on this new facility. I've been following it's construction from the ground up via the Ole Miss cameras, and it looks really nice.

Steak N Shake is there from what I hear. Raising Canes, too. The pictures I've seen are nice. The old leaks of the Tad Pad are gone now!!! I'm happy for Ole Miss for sure.

I'm recording the game tonight just to see the facility.

But I'm a stadium buff; I enjoy looking at new arenas and stadiums.

It seats under 9000 people. It reminds me somewhat of Auburn's new arena. I think those smaller, compact arenas are so much tougher to play in, especially when the fans are dialed in. It's no surprise that Ole Miss is one of my favorite teams in the SEC. I look forward to seeing UK play there next year! We'll have 6 frosh at least, I hope the environment doesn't get to the guys.

The arena seats 9500 with an additional capacity for 500 SRO. It was really nice and exceeded my expectations. It was really open, well lit, and easy access to food and restrooms. The video boards are massive. I like the fact the student section was moved to courtside on 3 of 4 sides. Really, the only complaint I had was the jumbotron over the court doesn't have the score. Has everything else, but not the score. The scoreboards are in the corners of the arena on the ribbon screens. By the end of the game, I was accustomed to finding it so it's not that big a deal.

How can I load my picture? The image option asked for URL.

This is the view from the main concourse. It includes Raising Caine's, Steak N Shake, Old Venice Pizza, Chops BBQ and multiple Rebel Grills as dining options. Rebel merchandise, C-spire stations, and Ole Miss basketball Museum exhibits are all along the concourse as well.

Inside the Pavilion Club, ticket holders have access to a large foyer/lounge with open seating and multiple tvs/projection screens. Free amenities include, coat check service, locker service, unique game menu (stuffed chicken breasts, sliced beef, potatoes, etc) as well as drinks, popcorn, dessert.

The view from my seats in section 114 of the Pavilion. Overall a great experience. Look forward to enjoying this venue for years to come.

Hats off to Ross Bjork & Andy Kennedy and their staffs for making this a reality.

Why is it named The Pavilion?

What are the prices at Cane's and Steak n Shake? I wonder how they compare to ones on the road

I'm assuming nobody wanted to buy the naming rights...
