I wouldn't really call us a sleeper at this point. I think we are pretty much expected to do well now with Howland coming in and with the class he pulled in. Most publications are picking us in the top 5 in the SEC. I wouldn't call that being a sleeper.

I do expect to be much better this year, but I also know that the SEC as a whole has gotten much better also. I do expect to be competitive and in every game though. I will be disappointed if we aren't, there aren't really many excuses this time around, we have a good coach, depth and the talent.

At the very least, everything I have read expects us to be competitive this year. I would not say we are "sleepers". I don't think anyone will be just shocked if MSU has a good season.

In my opinion we better have a good season.... we brought in a proven coach who has been on the big stage before, we have veteran leadership, and we brought in 3 guys rated 4* or higher including arguably the best guard in the class in Malik Newman. I would personally be upset if we didn't have a good season. I know it's Howland 1st year but he has a pretty good deck of cards to work with and he is experienced, I'm sure he expects a pretty good season also.

Plus our schedule is favorable...but we have to capitalize on the bigger games we have like the Puerto Rico shootout with Miami, Butler, Texas Tech, Minnesota, Utah, Temple being there...we should play in 3 games there for potential resume builders...plus Florida Statr. These games will all be important
