Emmons, a one-time Georgia commit, opted for the Crimson Tide over Tennessee. He becomes the first running back taken in the 2016 cycle.
Emmons, a 5-foot-10, 232-pound prospect, is rated the No. 4 running back and the No. 108 overall player in the country per the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Good luck getting him in school.

Was he not able to get into UGA? Did UGA pull his offer?

Yes he has had past academic issues. We didnt pull, he de-committed because he wanted to open things up. I dont know how much better his grades have gotten since Dec though

We didn't exactly pull it. We just backed off. Barring a miracle, he wouldn't have qualified at UGA.
The 2017 class is loaded at RB. We are only going to take one this year, and didn't think he would be admitted.

Edit. He is a really good RB. If you can get him admitted, he will do well.

Ive saw the film, and barring his grades (which I know nothing about), the kid looks to be an absolute stud.

Kid is really good. He does not take academics very seriously and unless he changes his attitude will need to go to juco. Auburn was recruiting him a while ago ( long before Georgia commit from what I remember).

I've read that his academics are not that bad and the reason he decommitted from UGA was because of their coaching changes.
His coach has said that he has been clocked between 4.3-4.48 all summer.....kids a freak. We will see.

Not saying what I read was the gospel, just another point of view.

Well that is interesting and makes not much sense at all. His position coach would have been a guy who has played and succeeded in the SEC and just finished coaching Melvin Gordon and gets Nick Chubb this season...lol

Good luck with him though, get him in school and he will be a good one

I read Bobo leaving had more to do with it than the position coach.

Ahh don't fret, no one ever steals a recruit from UGA, UGA always backs off or has found someone better :raz:

We aren't going to find one better in this class.

It only counts as a steal if you flipped him immediately. He de-committed from UGA in Dec...lol

Does B.J. still have academic work to do?
"He does. B.J. is actually taking three classes this summer to put himself in line to go ahead and play as a freshman."

I was just busting balls anyway, its not like Alabama has any trouble recruiting either. Its crazy to say, but at this time, Alabama is actually not loaded at RB like in the past and UGA clearly has more depth at RB than Alabama has right now, so an elite RB choosing between the two schools and values a shot at playing soon would lean towards Alabama because UGA is clearly set at RB thru at least next year.

His ACT score is still too low. JUCO?

If it's test score only he can go prep for a year.

Emmons needs a score of 17 or 18, Allen said. He got a 15 or 16 the last time he took the test, Allen said.
Even if Emmons doesn't get the score he needs Feb. 6, Allen said he believes Emmons can still retake the test another two or three times.
