Roquan Smith is the focus because he went on TV and pledged to UCLA, but at least he gets to make an informed decision due to his delay in sending in the paperwork. What about all the other players who signed. Is this (http://georgia.scout.com/story/1510659-wiser-for-the-waiting?s=135) just business as usual or dirty pool:

At 2 p.m. Fox Sports reported (http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/atlanta-falcons-spygate-assistant-steve-scarnecchia-dan-quinn-new-england-patriots-020415) UCLA defensive coach Jeff Ulbrich (http://georgia.scout.com/a.z?s=135&p=8&c=1&nid=4391409), who was the primary recruiter and the person Smith was closest with at UCLA, had been hired by new Atlanta Falcons (http://atl.scout.com/) coach Dan Quinn (http://georgia.scout.com/a.z?s=135&p=8&c=1&nid=8356855).

...

Quinn and Ulbrich coached together in Seattle before Ulbrich was hired by UCLA head coach Jim Mora to be the linebackers and special teams coach in 2012. He was elevated to defensive coordinator in 2014.

Smith was unaware of the news, but Georgia’s coaching staff made certain that news got to Macon County as fast as possible. Speculation behind the scenes in the media is that at least one media outlet was aware Ulbrich was going to leave UCLA as long as three weeks ago, but sat on the story until after Signing Day.

“It was common knowledge,” said one reporter. “They just agreed not to report it until after signing day.”
But Alex Marvez’s report at 2 p.m. reached Smith’s ears soon thereafter, and he had not yet sent in his letter of intent to Westwood.

Snoop has thrown out all of his USC drawers and will now wear UCLA underwear.

I think it was less than 20% of the schools had the same HC, OC & DC from 2010-2013. If your main reason for going to a school is because you really like a certain coach odds are they will not still be their when you leave.

Wasn't my point. If a coach knows he is leaving but stays simply to lick in a recruiting class, that's not fair to the kids.

I agree. Coaching attrition happens all the time, but to purposely hide the fact that a coach is leaving to get a kid to commit is shady and slimy.

I knew what your point was and I agree what UCLA did here was pretty slimy. I was just saying these young men need to pick the schools for reason that go far beyond I like X coach. Cause odds are X coach is going to be gone sooner than later.

Well Ulbrich officially accepts Falcons job (http://www.latimes.com/sports/ucla/uclanow/la-sp-ucla-jeff-ulbrich-falcons-20150206-story.html). As to your point Coal, while I agree with you, the reality is that most of the kids choose based on relationships they develop during the recruitment process with the coaches.

Turns out the UCLA situation wasn't that much different than the situation at Ohio State, Florida and Texas.

Is anyone else not seeing this thread when they click on SEC recruiting? It only shows up in the last post made.

Nevermind, it was under all the sticky posts and didn't see it.
